A friend of mine lend me his Imprecation 7" earlier this year and I was really impressed. This new song sounds like something that could have been recorded 18 years ago, like it a lot.

Not bad, but I'm sorely missing the obfuscated, cloudy production that I fell in love with in the beginning.

I'm actually hugely dissapointed with this track, doesn't have that filthy downtuned sound or the haunting atmosphere that made the demo and 7" so exciting to me when they came out. I'll hold off writing them off completely til I hear the rest of the new stuff, but this is pretty weak reintroduction to these ears.

Will check it out in a bit. Loved the first album and besides these guys did go on to Bahimiron as well as them being involved in the likes of Blaspherian and Adumus who last time I checked were pretty fucking good!

Ooooh let me mix it pleeeeease. Just for fun, I don't even care if they use it or not. I could make it sound good.

Who fucking cares about the production. Just copy it to tape and then digitize it on a Macintosh (queers) if you need shitty sound!

The music is great. Imprecation still have it. Fuck (Christ) yes.

Well, the production is very important to me. It can often enhance and bring to life certain aspects of a band's sound that would otherwise falter or not be seen at all under a mis-managed mix. To me, Imprecation had a perfect sound on Sigil of Baphomet that was incredibly conducive to their dark and occult leanings.

whatever about the production man, I just think the song is very weak, doesn't sound like Imprecation to me. Still curious to hear the rest of the new stuff.

Well I thought the song itself was pretty good, definitely not what they are capable of at their strongest but good nevertheless.

The characteristic personal sound IMPRECATION have always had its absolutely lost, their identity. This song its not memorable though, and the drums sound its complete bullshit. BLASPHERIAN its 100000 times better.

Once more: STOP FUCKING REUNITE!

I am absolutely sceptic about the new ep

Pretty good song, not to be compaired to their classic songs though. I think it has the basic elements that the older songs have, the same elements, which defined Imprecation back in the day: The low tuned crushing guitar riffs, selectively used creepy keyboards, dark satanic lyrics etc. (Maybe the vocals aren't as guttural as before, but they sound good to me however)

I have to disagree here. From my point of view Imprecation never had their own unique sound, since it varied quite a lot between every recording. Their originality, or identity as you said, rises from those features I mentioned above, thus I wouldn't judge this new effort only for the reason that it has different sound than on the releases from the early '90s.

I think this is good continuation to the older stuff they made, musicwise and soundwise.
