Here are some records I've lost due to water damage, etc.

Mayhem "dawn of the black hearts" LP arrived soaked in rain water
Krisiun split 7" came broken in half
ABSU son of... LP arrived soaked in rain water

And plenty of corner bends, spine rips and general jacket destruction due to poor packing and postal abuse.

my DESTRUCTION Eternal Devastation Metal Blade pressing arrived broken. At first sight the LP package had no damage, but at 2nd sight it looked like someone has hammered a nail through it !
And I got a MORNINGSTAR LP once broken as well but that was because of poor packaging.

A couple Winds of the Black Mountains cd's snapped in half (no jewel cases) without a single mark, bend, tear, of any kind on the envelope as if they were almost packed that way... Confused
Very unusual damage.

Due to the packing method I tore into an envelope and ripped the back tray cards in half from the cd's since they were free floating around and jammed in the end of the envelope I happened to tear open.

Neither incident was any real loss though as none of that stuff is expensive or hard to get again if one wanted to.

Few 7 inches came in two pieces but I either got a new one or the seller refunded my money so nothing too bad I guess.

got a package from perverted tase

black funeral - vampry lp die hard was wet with rain water
but other 2 lps in the same box were fine.

got a box of lps from no colours a few years back with a dead mouse inside it, records were fine though.

never had broken records , just the usual corner bends and seam splits.

i usually find the worst packaged parcels get here just fine, the ones that are packaged to non destructive condition, seem to get here battered. Maybe cos the post office think they can kick those around and throw them.

Guess I had a 'rain water' package as well from Nuclear Blast. It was all cd's though and the items were in shrink wrap so there was zero damage. The package and that magazine they ship were soaked and destroyed.

The worst damage I ever got was a pack I ordered from Regimental Records. It had obviously been run over somewhere in the mail (there was even a tire track on one side!) All of the CDs and the 7" were crushed.

Fortunately, Regimental rules, so they replaced everything for free... recommended distro, that's for sure.

Jewel cases are replaceable, bent corners of a jacket aren't.

Some time ago I received an otherwise mint fucking copy of Grotesque "Incantation" with a big fucking crack in the vinyl corresponding with the giant fucking dent in the box it came in.

My absolute worst vinyl experience of all time. I damn near wept.

I luckily have yet to have any of the physical media themselves damaged during shipping. The worst I've experienced so far was the Ved Buens Ende LP that I ordered from Kyrck, which came with a long bend of the left third of the cover that ran all the way from the top to the bottom. Not a big deal in the long run, but still quite annoying when buying a brand new record.

30 of my CD's in a box were smashed to pieces by some postal worker... some CD's survived, but pretty much everything was ripped, torn or broken. I had insurance on the package, but it took about a year to get it back from Canada Post!
