Just wondering why everyone here is so big on vinyl?
I prefer to have the cd version if it is taken care of cd will last a lifetime.
Vinyl records will wear out if played alot unless you copy it to tape and listen to that.

What is everones take on this?

Because it sounds way(!) better, it's better looking (big artworks), it lasts forever if taken care of properly and it just creates a unique atmosphere to apply an album you love onto your vinylplayer.

And because ONLY ANALOG IS REAL!

I don't actually care about the format, as long as it's physical. People with virtual collections fucking suck.

I don't care because I won't fucking live forever, taking care of vinyls and cd-s in my crypt 666 years from now, fearing that they will get damaged or judging which one has better sound. I just want to listen to the goddamn music and bang my fucking head...

Yes, it's the big cover art. That's pretty much THE reason why I'm a sucker for vinyl. There's nothing better than drowning in the details of a great cover while listening to the music. CDs truly suck when it comes to that, don't they? As for the sound I'm not quite sure if the whole analog thing still stands up to its good name in a time of digital recording. I mean a digitally recorded album -call me out, but I assume that's the standard these days- pressed on vinyl is nowhere near analog, right?

Vinyl, in itself, is much more aesthetically pleasing that a CD.
What needs to be said has already been said by everyone else, but I get into the aesthetics of it all.

i started buying records because there was a better selection and they were WAY cheaper than the cds where i bought as a kid in the mid 80s and yeah, the covers, inserts, etc were/are cooler looking. nowadays i think i buy records mostly out of habit.
