Yeah, and got colossally good distribution at the same time, guaranteeing that it sat at record stores in used CD piles for $4 all the way through the 1990s.

...and young metalheads like me bought it, because they read somewhere that this band is considered kult. What a surprise.

I actually appreciate the depth of consideration given from your camp towards metal. My only complaint would be the internet language ... "suxorz" (or whatever) and "epic fail" hold you back in a culture ghetto. Not much different from someone like Lil Wayne trying to talk about the war on drugs and its relationship to institutional racism, which falls on deaf ears since he can't stop acting like a n1gger all the time.

Just my two cents...

This is valid. There is too much internet culture in the troll... remember what Nietzsche said about monsters.

Unless Suffocation have access to a time machine, there's no way they could've been influenced by deathcore on Souls to Deny, since the genre didn't exist until mid-2004 at the earliest, and that album was composed almost entirely between 1999 and 2001.

Beside that, there are no elements on that album that can even be considered similar to deathcore.

Also, where the fuck is this abomination on your list?

Much more deserving of being there than Domination or Souls to Deny

When we let rip with our "Metal FAILs -- Volume I," people were pissed -- mainly because we didn't include their favorite fails. So in the grand tradition of whoring ourselves for populist acclaim, and thus perhaps thousands of grubby fingers clicking on the same links, we've brought you the sequel: "More Metal FAILs" or "Son of Metal FAIL," depending on what you want to call it.

Son of Metal FAIL

The Fail continues! I think it's time we faced the truth about failed metal. Some music just sucks. Some music is just great. This whimpy fru-fru airy silliness about "it's just my opinion" is just people freaking out when they realize other people can figure out they listen to doofus music.

Chaos AD is such a fucking contradiction for me. In one sense, it was one of the first heavy albums I ever really got into as a kid, and to this day a few of the songs retain a very high level of sentimental value for me (i.e. they always sound heavy or at the very least produce a youthful feeling, like that "oh my god this shit is so fucking crushing aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"), but at the same time, I have to admit that the truth is Schizophrenia makes that record look like a pile of nothing.
However, I can't write Max off until Roots, when I truly lost all hope for the band. Get into Soulfly territory and I am downright infuriated.

Let me also say that any band that has the stones to put Jello Biafra lyrics on a major label record still deserves at least a little bit of respect...
But of course after that...fuck.

Both Cavaleras have started a new trend in the super-group business. What you do is take two famous brothers and put them together. Make sure the surname is in the band name. Cases in point: Tardy Brothers, and Cavalera Conspiracy.
