Really, really great. It kind of reads like an enormous fanzine editorial/scene report and you can feel an enormous amount of passion for the music flowing through Ekeroth's writing.
If you'd like to borrow this, I'd be happy to bring it into Extreme Noise some Thursday night... |

No problem. Are you back yet? I might be busy tomorrow, but I could certainly stop by next Thursday. |

I myself want some really good books on the industrial and post-industrial music scenes (Noise, Industrial, Power Electronics, Neo-Folk, Martial etc)
Anyone know where I can get the book 'Battlenoise' about the Martial Industrial scene. Also still waiting for the English translation of the Looking For Europe book (about neo-folk). |

absolutely do not bother with Battlenoise, its terrible. Much as I like his music (its written by the guy behind Kreigsfall-U), its poorly written and his christian slant colors the entire thing in a way which distorts the whole project. He spends half the text attacking any acts who might have satanic or anti-christian agendas (in particular H. Nordvagr, although In slaughter Natives get the same treatment). A waste of time, and I think its a good thing that he was successfully sued and forced to withdraw it from publication. I got the last copy Cold spring had left - the rest have been pulped.
An English translation of looking for Europe, however, I'd be very interested in. |

Well it is being worked on, but they're taking an awfully long time over it which is infuriating. The booklet with the CD set does the trick for now but its still very frustrating.
I'll take your word for it on Battlenoise. Shame really. |

Haven't read it, but a friend of mine strongly recommends it:
But I guess it focusses mainly on the 80ies... |

Unfortunately (for me anyway) it wasn't much of a source for new unheard of Swedeath, just a very detailed account of the whens, whos and hows of how it all kicked off.. never the less, great read for sure. Enjoy! _________________ Myths (Vinyl) - click me

I borrowed this from my high school's library. Really good book, but i think Daniel would have done better if he would skip the Black Metal parts and also drop all Black Metal bands from the A-Z of Swedish Death Metal. I read the entire book (except the A-Z of course) in less than 2 days so i think that explains how good it is. _________________ warsystem now |
