[quote="Carlzilla"]I'd probably have to break these down by sub-genre otherwise it would be too hard. These are just my favorites, and not supposed to infer that these are the most important/influential to other bands/etc.

Death Metal:
Insanity - Death After Death
Ripping Corpse - Dreaming With The Dead
Sororicide - The Entity

Black Metal:
Anaal Nathrakh - The Codex Necro
VON - Satanic Blood

Niden Div. 187 - Impergium

I feel like they are so overlooked why is this? Anyone killer fucking album total endtime type of shit.

(some of my favorite recordings are eps rather than albums, so I broke that rule a little)

Death:

Grotesque-Incantation
Demigod-Slumber
Morbid Angel-Blessed/Covenant/Altars (tie)
Sadistic Intent-Resurrection
Immolation-Close to a World Below
Incantation-Onward to Golgotha
Dead Congregation-Graves of the Archangels (and climbing with every listen)

Black:

Taake-Nattestid
Emperor-Nightside
Root-Hell Symphony
Darkthrone-Transilvanian Hunger
Immortal-Pure Holocaust
Mayhem-DMDS
Deathspell Omega-SMRC

Punk/HC

All Born Against releases tie for first
His Hero Is Gone-15 counts of Arson
Dillinger Four-Songs of the Midwestern Americas
Bad Brains-s/t
Dead Kennedys-Frankenchrist
Turbonegro-Ass Cobra
Leatherface-Horsebox
Descendents-Milo Goes to College
Ramones-Rocket to Russia
(and I'll stop here because this list will never end)

My favorite albums tend to shift around a lot, and I have absolute classics in most other genres, listing them would take too long so I just stuck with these 3 groups.

Some albums that I thought have an unique or influential sound and every song is great from start to finish, albums that always leave me satisfied...

Blasphemy "Fallen Angel of Doom"
Brocas Helm "Into Battle"
Black Flag "Damaged"
High Tide "Sea Shanties"
Electric Wizard "Dopethrone"
Darkthrone "A Blaze in the Northern Sky"

and...
any Ozzy-era Sabbath
70's Judas Priest

There's probaby alot more but this is one of those topics that could have a different answer every time.

Pink Floyd 'The Wall' and 'Dark Side of the Moon' + Tom Waits 'Swordfishtrombones'. TODAY, but I choose to believe the best is yet to come from a totally artistic point of view haha.

If we're going artistic standpoint, nothing tops that one album comprised entirely of farts.

Yeah OK. I guess the "Flawless albums"-topic is almost the same as this. Or is it?

Not really, for me -- some of my all-time favorites are far from flawless.

Nothing beats Arcangelo Corelli however.

still I have the impression I will never know it completely.
