Sweet!

I'll be there because it was either Volahn/Asdautas that one time at the Black Castle, or the Meatmen at the Relax Bar!

I had to choose the Meatmen since I've been waiting 10 years to see them and it was worth it.

Now, if only Klaxon will ship out my package I ordered from them a few weeks ago.

Yes, keep in mind... this is a 21+ show. Sorry for those under aged... but the place sells alcohol so that comes with legal issues. Regardless, I hope to see a pretty decent crowd... I'm looking forward to sharing the stage with two of the best black metal bands to come out of the U.S.

Ah yes, I e-mailed asking about your aforementioned tape releases. Look forward to getting them. You will have some still available after, right? That compilation really blew me away.

People need to start bringing portable cassette decks to these shows. I'd fucking kill for a live tape of this. (hint hint)

why would you kill for a live recording that does not do justice to the bands' sound and deprives you of the visual aspect which is essential to understanding the bands' live performance? unauthorized recordings of live shows are almost always worthless even if the show was excellent.

in most cases any live recording made without the proper recording equiupment is just a shadow of what the band has to offer. there are so many terrible live recordings of bands that i like and i am always disappointed when i make the mistake of buying them.

i realize that you probably werent being entirely serious, however.

I'd like a tape because I live with the reality that no bands I like will ever play in Nova Scotia (Canada) so that's my only option to hearing a live performance. As far as the "visual aspect" of a live performance goes that just adds to the recording, leaves a bit for one to wonder.

I don't care much for "proper" live recordings, I've always perfered bootleg live recordings. Like that Goatsemen Pic-LP. Thats a live show recorded with a tape deck, thats just perfect.

But as I was saying...I'd be willing to trade for this.

that goatsemen recording was one of the first that came to mind as being worthless in my opinion.

at any rate, i am fairly certain that bands such as volahn and ashdaustas who are very selective about the quality of their releases would be appalled by any bootleg made on a shitty tape recorder. i can appreciate bands who take a stance on how their music is presented...it has nothing to do with making money or anything like that. of course, i dont actually know what volah and ashdautas would think of it...im only guessing.

and i do understand your dilemma, but there are bands that we all want to see and never will. i mean there are tons of bands that play in europe and may never play here, but i wouldnt want a shitty recording of say dead congregation just because i like the band. its a disservice to their integrity and the effort the bands put into their presentation.
