Best song out of this movie: Profanación. Probably their only song recorded:

I think I have some Profanacion three track demo here somewhere...

Can you please check this, if these 3 tracks are from the same band? Talked with several people from Colombia already but no none was sure about this.

I have the same 3 tracks from a rehearsal dated from 1986.

Check this films (nothing about Metal):

La Vendedora de Rosas - A film about sniffing glue kids in the 90s Medellin.

Juliana (1988) - Peruvian movie about exploiting kids of the streets.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwkKwaFpoNI

Gregorio (1984) - Peruvian film about a province kid living by himself in the big city.

Somehow getting eager to hear these tracks. On the Sampler LP the band is clearly ahead of its time with this proto-Black Metal song.

Great song. Sounds like they tried to play Slayer's Tormentor but it was too hard, so they turned it to their own song.

I was hoping that Cipriano's drum/vocal song would be on the soundtrack but it isn't. Cool fucking movie. People compare it to City of God but this is so much more real. Pixote (which is totally crushing) would be a better comparison but it definitely doesn't have the tunes to back it up.

Spun has a few heavy metal references and is a pretty good watch. It has a junky watching the Mother North video repeatedly and Rob Halford has a small part as a sexshop clerk. Blondie makes an appearance as well as the dyke next door.

Then there's Hesher. Decent movie about a rocker interfering with a family's life. He's constantly blasting Metallica in his van.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1403177/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

And Rock Star offcourse. Based on Judas Priest's switch to Tim Owens on vocals. They eventually stopped endorsing it I believe. It is full of dumb rock clichés but a fun watch.

City of God was good. I need to watch it again.
A month ago I watched both Tropa de elite movies. Great stuff. Some rough justice!

I'll get copies of the reissue LP in a month or so.

Never even heard of that until last week, went and saw Rob Halford do a live interview in Hollywood and he talked about the filming a bunch. Definitely need to check this out now.

Jonas Akerlund directed it. He was a member of Bathory at an earlier point. Also directed Candlemass' 'Bewitched' video.

Yeah, Rob talked about Jonas at some length... when he talked about Bathory the crowd gave a pretty good reaction, ha.
