I sold a sinister CD to this guy in Brazil.
He paid on 8/4 and I shipped
on 8/5. He emailed me today 8/7 wondering where the CD was.
I sent him a very civil email stating the obvious.
He seemed kind of pissed.
If he files a claim what the fuck can I do?

haha ebay meth heads. has he made a threat to file a claim? i wouldnt worry about it, people on ebay are just nuts. if he files a claim within a week or 2 you can just state the obvious and say theres no way it could make it to brazil in time, theyll have a record of when he paid if he paid with paypal. also he could just be wondering the date it was sent on and cant speak english well. who knows. ebay is full of nutters.

Might be the language thing so
I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt
and see what happens. I was going to end my ebay account
and start trading elsewhere anyway.
I actually had a guy one time say he never got his CD
after two months. Because of this fucked up economy
I hate to see someone lose their shit in the mail.
So I refunded his money.

He said thanks after he got the CD and refused to pay back.
I finally got my money back from paypal.
fucker.............

there's a limit so buyers can open a "not received" dispute only after 7 days (I think) have passed. In the other hand as a buyer/seller you have a 30 days period to file a dispute if the transaction had problems and as a buyer 45 days period to open a dispute directly at paypal.

I've had some trouble in the past with South American transactions. Through ebay of course. People pay for their auctions, then file a claim that they never received it. These people don't contact asking if I sent the pkg, they just get their money back. I really don't know how to defend against this, for I haven't investigated closely enough to see if there is a way to protest the paypal claim.

This is why you register and have tracking/delivery confirmation numbers with it? South America has enough postal troubles with lost/damaged packages. It costs more, but this is why most ebay sellers from that area charge enormous prices for shipping, because their post is so horrible it's a miracle if things arrived, especially intact.

Also helps from scam artists, which also seem more common in places with bad post, perhaps simply because they can use this excuse to claim package not received and rip off...

People have been fucking me royally at eBay lately. My advice is to only ship with means of tracking.

That does make sense, but the clerk at my post said
I could only get delivery conf. if I shipped priority and
that cost 15.00.

At least I'm ending the Ebay thing for good.
I've sold everything from my massive collection
that I won't listen to anymore and bought some kick ass Lp's
with the money. Twisted Evil

I simply refuse to sell to South America, and South East Asia, as well as only selling to places like Romania, Hungary etc. if they pay for registered shipping. Makes life a lot easier.
