Here's a couple of favorites of mine from the old days:

Necropsya

http://www.myspace.com/necropsyaperu

Peruvian band, released their first demo in 1993 called "Slaves of the magic". Necropsya has this great technical thrash hook and mixed it with smaller amounts of death metal. I haven't heard the new album, but the old stuff is cultmoyenfagoyosuke whatever.

Necromancy

http://www.myspace.com/oficialnecromancyband

From Bolivia; released two crushing demos "Satan crush useless God" and their best "Into Apocalipsis" in the early/mid 90's. This stuff was completely stripped down and dirty blackened death metal. Today they're doing some kind of melodic-symphonic-keyboard black metal stuff which is completely uninteresting in my opinion.

I like Bloody Cross - Fear and Pain of God Demo 1993 from Chile, it's pretty chaotic/noisy death grind with few hints of black metal. They were playing together with Death Yell a couple of times.

(*slaps forehead)

No guys, this thread is to talk about Necropsya and Necromancy specifically, not other South American bands that we all know about! Laughing

Well aside from all the more "obvious" cult bands like Sarcofago, Graf Spee, Parabellum, Astaroth, and so on, here is one amazing and overlooked band:

Apolion's Genocide:

Apolion's Genocide was from Colombia and released three major demos in their short existence. They have around 5-6 released demos, but metal-archives only lists the three major ones- the others follow the musical styles outlied on my chart below. They had a different music style on each demo:

1st demo: occult black metal with keyboards; very interesting
2nd demo: Folkish metal with Colombian folk influences- amazing stuff!
3rd demo: Progressive rock with some nice keyboards- also pretty good

AP existed for a short time but released three amazing(remember major tapes) demos. Endhir(the drummer) now lives in Italy. Around a year ago I bought a whole bunch of demos from him to give to my friends(they love Apolion's Genocide too) and spread around in my community. You can still buy almost all the tapes and a compilation CD from Endir(I have the email address if you are interested). A must listen to band for any fans of South American metal!

I have some other bands that I'll post in the coming days; I'm writing this from one of those hotel computers that allows you only fifteen minutes of computer use. There is also a businessman behind me who appears anxious to use the computer...

Have either the NECROPSYA or NECROMANCY material mentioned at the start of this thread been reissued at all?
