Personally I think the album is quite good. The music is pretty rocking.

The Demo was decent (they always are the best!!!) as the drummer was trying to do stuff that was more prog but was beyond him, but this is off time and it sounds rushed. Expected better from members of Lust and Rites to be sure, its got the loose feeling of Lust but lacks the weirdness of both Lust and Rites. Sounds like middle era Rotting Christ and New Varathron. I'll pass and hope for a better release in the future.

Lame of me I know, but I bought the LP the day Ajna added it to the site, but I haven't listened to it yet. Stereo has been dismantled as I'm doing some shit in this house and just been busy as hell.

Really curious to hear "Serpentine Ayat" though. I love the original version on the 7".

As previously stated, I didn't like the re-recordings but I like the other songs a fair amount, one of the best this year!

As much as I'd like to see them at Harvesting Hell, 60 CAN for them and Atheist isn't worth it to me

Grief played me this last night and I had to grab it from YK immediately. Apart from some slight over-indulgence in the guitar parts that irked occassionally, I thought this was fucking great. Would love a new Rites album more though!

I'm hoping that the demos and 7"s are compiled together on one release. Most bands should do this, actually.

I d/l'ed the MP3s, but I want to give it a really good listen once I have the cash to buy it. So for now, I really have no opinion on the new album.

Yep, really. Very heavy metal, very chorusy, very bouncy. Nifelheim were more European in sensibility.

Actually Nifelheim sounds very Brazilian influenced on the first two. Maybe like Vulcano and Sextrash mixed with Torr. I didn't hear those bands while listening to the latest Weapon.

Nifelheim to me sounds like heavy metal with a Destruction influence, like Venom without the punk. I'm sure there are other influences. You could also compare it to Merciless as done by an Exodus clone band.

Merciless sounds more like a Sadus worship band.

You don't hear DD Crazy on the first two Nifelheim?
