I like the first three Dimmu Borgir albums. Actually I think they're better than the Mayhem debut.

Fixed. Very Happy

I prefer The Dawn of the Dying Sun over the first album. Both are good though. Metal-Archives states the following: "Also released on vinyl, limited to 1000 copies. The pressing was defective and there is loud static on several songs."
How's that in practice? Not worth to get?

If i recall right, my copy had 2 songs with fucked up sound and the vinyl itself was really warped. Got it as new from FMP.

Ok, thanks for the info. I'll probably get that one then if it's only two songs. Shouldn't be too hard to find for a reasonable price considering that 1000 was pressed.

I'd avoid it. The static is LOUD! It completely overrides the music for rather long stretches (several seconds). One of the songs it happens on is "Alone Walkyng", and I don't remember exactly, but I think it happened on more than two songs. I ended up buying the tape from FMP to replace it (and I'll definitely get the CD reissues of both albums). I'd give you the shitty piece of vinyl for free, but I had it made into a bowl. It's better for keeping your keys, wallet, etc. in than for playing! It's shit! Don't waste a fucking penny on it. If you have an analog nerd boner, buy the tape from FMP. They should still have it for $3.

I bought this crap vinyl for $8 from FMP less than a year ago. People must have realized it was a piece of fucking shit and avoided it so he marked it down without saying it was a piece of fucking shit so some suckers like me would still buy it, thinking they were getting a bargain. It's not available directly anymore.

It is a great album, though.

Darkthrone up to Total Death
I only like "Soulside Journey". Fuck the rest of the shit this band released. Nothing can top their 1st CD. CRAPTHRONE & SHITZUM are the 2 most over-rated bands in Norwegian history ( ...not including MAYHEM after "De Mysteriis..." ).

Besides the "In The Glare..." demo, this band is shit. Over-rated shit.

"Antichrist" & a few various songs thru the years. I think it would be great if they would post their lyrics, but, I dont see that happening.

I love cynical two-line reviews.

I'll agree the first Darkthrone is my favorite, although unsure if it's their best. Don't really care. I like it best.

Disagree on Graveland.

I would really like to read the lyrics to "Possessed (by Satan)" or whatever that ridiculous track is.

I never got into "Soulside Journey". Too bad no matter how hard I've tried
to look it through various goggles and in the light of the following three
masterpieces I have to still admit to myself that the first Darkthrone album
still only is just a typical '90s Life Metal / Techno Death lp.

Agree. But at least the lyrics were great on this album. The last DT-Albums were a bit silly.

I have it on cd, it's just such a great album that it would be nice to have on vinyl.
The Katatonia/Hades split is one of the greatest pairings. Two killer demos.
