I've got everything up to possessed
and I know Cronos is absent,
but is this any good?

Yes, I think so. One of my favourite Venom-albums infact.
Blackened are the Priests and the titletrack are killer songs.

I agree. It's worth checking out for sure. The live video that came out around the same time is great also, can't remember the title...

Yeah from 1989 to 1992 there was this Atomkraft vocalist instead. Always slipped to check out that era. How are the other 2 records? The Waste Lands and Temples Of Ice.
Ill get some sort of vinyl advance pressing from Prime Evil so I can try this one soon.

The old lineup reunion from 1996 didnt do anything for me so far. Cast In Stone was boring and the recent two are fucking atrocious

the other 2 with Dolan are nowhere near as good as Prime Evil. Waste Lands has a really cool track called "Crucify" (or Crucified, can't remember) but is otherwise quite bland. Temples of Ice is probably even less interesting.

I had this on my comp for the longest time and just recently finally deleted it. No Cronos = No Venom in my eyes.

when i was a kid, the only venom albums that were officially pressed in turkey was "prime evil", so i had a long time enjoying this one before entering the world of dubbed, unofficial tapes. i really love this album regardless of cronos' abscence.

Nothing can challenge first two Venom LPs, but I like that Tony Dolan era of the band, it's decent yet so underrated. Prime Evil is the best one of that, but also is Temples Of Ice near (at least worth checking out). There's even not so much difference in Cronos' and Tony's vocals.

Prime evil is a very good album. But for me it`s not Venom. Venom=80-85!

By the way: I really like Calm before the Storm sometimes. Everyone bashes it, but I think it's a still good Heavy Metal album.

At least many times better than Cold Lake...

I do like that Kissing the beast album where they re-recorded all the VENOM classics with Dolan. Its still the same sloppy VENOM with a "bit" better sound and a voice very similar to Cronos. Those Dolan Albums would have been as "bad" as they are with Cronos or not, no doubt from my side about that.

Does anyone know if there are recordings with Clive Archer on vocals? I heard from (not very reliable) sources that he was on the first demo-songs (Angel Dust, Raise the Dead and Red Light Fever), but in the liner notes of "In Memorium" it credits Cronos.

For me, the vocals sound like Cronos, but I am not that sure...

In fact, this is the source I mean:

http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=18343

Anyway, before the Internet I never heard from that Clive Archer at all...
