another hype

I really LOVE 'On The Dead' and im gonna order this LP the second i have the money but i really didn't understand the pre-release hype. Everybody got really interested in this cos it's a VON "side project"... But it has allmost none similarities with VON. Most of the users on this board probably don't like post-punk or goth rock so why would they suddenly like it when there's a couple of black metal dudes doin' the stuff? This isn't much different from Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Killing Joke etc...

Yeah, you get the point. Exactly what i mean.

The only reason that the fact that Sixx was a Von side project sparked my interest at all was because I assumed that they would be capable of making authentic and genuinely interesting music. The main reason that I was interested in Sixx is because of the bands it was compared to musically, and I wasn't disappointed.

If we turn this on the head: maybe these young ones will get into the old real dark pop acts as well because of this. There are not many channels today which turns you towards those acts like Joy Division, SoM etc..

Even after 20 years I still can't get enough of the Sisters of Mercy...

I liked some gothic music anyway, but then again I don't give a fuck what other people think about that. But I own Sisters of Mercy, Joy Division, Lycia, Danzig and like stuff like The Cure etc. As for the one track I've heard from Sixx I wasn't too impressed, but may get the CD sometime.

Mine arrived today also. The packaging on this is outstanding. It's also worth noting that the patch is bigger (5.5 in.) than the standard circular patch (4 in.).

JOY DIVISION's "Unknown Pleasures" & -especially- "Closer" are far darker than ANY Black Metal anyway, period!! Twisted Evil

One of my favourite bands. Period!

Anyone heard a black metal version of Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'? It was done by some suicidal band called '...', its fucking terrible! Its up on their myspace anyway:

Umm, enjoy.

I just heard the whole thing. I fucking LOVE IT. I need it on BLACK VINYL - any EU distros still have this on black vinyl? Iron Bonehead doesn't seem to have any black wax left.... Plus I think Patrick still hasn't sent out my last order!!!
