Anybody else got this yet? I received my copy yesterday and am finishing up listening to the 2nd disc now. Overall thoughts:

- Cover art is OK for what it is. I know some people can't stand it. I would have preferred the original art but this new take on it is decent for digital art.

- The remastered "Blod-Draum" is way more trebly and less murky. It's eye-opening, but ultimately I prefer the original sound, which is kind of nightmarish and subterranean. Luckily the original is included here (on disc 2) and that's the one I'll be listening to for the most part. They also compressed the shit out of the remaster (but not the original version, which is a good 6 db quieter and more dynamic).

- "Stormvald" is also over-compressed, too bad.

- The demos on the 2nd disc have a more reasonable compression level (perhaps so they don't blow your eardrums coming on the heels of the quieter original version of "Blod-Draum") and sound very nice - absolutely kills the shoddy job Necroharmonic did with the Crematory demos. Both demos are thunderously heavy and atmospheric.

- Packaging is decent. Complete lyrics to "Blod-Draum" are included along with a two page bio. There are some pages of pics (looks like all studio photos) and stripped-down credits for the album and demos. Would be nice to see more vintage stuff like the demo covers and old flyers, etc., but overall there's not much to complain about in this department.

The vinyl version is rather shitty. I just got some in a trade and the jackets are printed on flimsy shit paper. The layout looks pretty shitty as well.

So most likely just like it would have been in the 90's if someone would have bothered to released it on vinyl. Great that someone finally made it even happen...

Pretty disappointing resissue of an album that deserved a much better and dedicated treatment

No lyrics as there's no insert with the LP. Crap.

@Mikael: Maybe it was this quality from the 90es to release it like it is, but even back then there were people that released something with passion. And not with a thin cover where you already have the ringwear, two bents and a seam split before you open the LP-cover for the first time.

Yeah I'm not sure where this notion of 90's releases being shitty comes from. I have plenty of high quality releases from the early 90's.

I agree, the Molested LP presentation was very disappointing. I made my own 2 sided lyric insert just to satisfy my own nerdy sense of completeness for my collection. Feel free to download if anyone is interested.

1.
The "Blod Draum"-LP is absolutely not shitty.
It was not possible to give it a better artwork, since Oystein could not provide us with any artwork-data or something.
So our graphic-designer gave it the best possible artwork-remake.
I agree to the complaint of the thin paper - but we cannot change this now.

2.
The "Stormvold"-LP which will be released within the next weeks will show many differences to the "Blod Draum"-LP.
- It will have a new cover-artwork to improve its quality.
- It will be wrapped in a heavy carton outer sleeve.
- It will have a printed inner sleeve.
So guys, check it out!

Well, if you say these are better quality then I will buy them. When does the Belial ship? There is no pre-order link on your web site

Like I said:
We had some problems with the "Blod Draum"-artwork and the sleeves, but this neither made the LP shitty, nor will happen again.

If you're interested in pre-ordering, please just send an e-mail to:
info@galgenstrang.de

Then you will be added to the pre-order-list.

I think the "Never Again"-LP will be ready to ship in July.

Considering the price, thin jacket, poor layout, no insert or booklet, w/lyrics, info & pics, plus the split on the spine (I thought only my copy suffered this due to shitty handling from postal employees), that re-release was a disapointment.

Yes the music is what counts and the sound quality of the vinyl was excellent, but if I wanted only that, I would have made a CDr copy of the CD, or just download it from a good rip.

Having said all that, maybe you must consider making a second run wich will have the quality of your upcomimg releases. This album diserves it.
