Dunno if this outfit catches you guys, but I'll give it a shot anyway since the NWN! board is good for a great taste in music despite of its genre as you've proven every now and then. Harangue, late bloomer I am I've just (re-)discovered Dead Moon and wanna ask you what's the beAst release to start with. THANKS!

Dead Moon Night would be a cool place to start. A cool collection of early stuff. If yr into this band I guess most of their releases will hit the spot just right.

Yeah, get the 2xCD best-of that Sub Pop put out a few years ago, it's fucking EXCELLENT. I've only heard a couple of their full-lengths, but "Stranded in the Mystery Zone" LP really cooks. Also check out Fred Cole's old band from the 60s, The Lollipop Shop if you dig Dead Moon... awesome Nuggets type garage rock!

I haven't heard much Pierced Arrows, Fred and Toodie's new band.... how are they compared to Dead Moon?

The Lollipop Shop was GREAT psychedelic garage band of the highest quality! As for Fred Cole related bands be sure to check also:
- The Rats (in which Toody was also a member)
- Zipper
- The Western Front.
As for Pierced Arrows check their Myspace. Very similar to Dead Moon, in other words great. I wonder why they formed a new band so similar to Dead Moon!!! They should have kept the legend alive since their current music is full of Dead Moon references. The funny thing is that in Pierced Arrows Kelly Halliburton participates (ex Cluster Bomb Unit, Defiance, Endrophobia, Masskontroll, Resist, Severed Head Of State)!!!!!!! Crustcore meats garage-psych!?!?!!

yeah, last time i saw them kelly was wearing an anti cimex shirt. kinda funny.

i miss dead moon, for sure, but pierced arrows totally fills the void.

check 'unknown passage' the dead moon story dvd if you can. inspirational as can be. aside from the casino bit maybe, ha.

The Rats stuff has been re-released on LP only via Mississippi Records lately. Great stuff especially the newer one.
