At least we wouldn't see anymore of that dragged out "Reunion". I saw them a bunch of times after '98 and by the last time, it was totally boring and ran it's course.

Fuck Ozzy. I love old Black Sabbath but this is ridiculous. Iommi is Black Sabbath in my eyes.

Ozzy's voice took years to work it's way into my tastes. Iommi's riffs took 5 seconds.

I'm not one of those "I only like Sabbath with Ozzy" clowns of course, but I'm certainly not those clowns that say they hate the Ozzy-era to look cool. That's the classic Sabbath! The Dio stuff is of course great in it's own right. I was just listening to it. I haven't heard "Born Again" in a long time, but I remember liking much of it. Late 80's and 90's stuff (besides Dehumanizer) I never really paid attention too.

I rarely find myself listening to Born Again; It has a track or two that are decent but as a whole the album is rather stale. I still need to get my hands on a copy of Dehumanizer.

Try to search some blogs or torrents for the "Born Again" demos. The album itself isn't that great due to wimpy production but the demos sound WAY better.

Oooh, finally a thread worth 2 shits!

Ronnie James Dio is, from a musical standpoint, 666 times a better vocalist that Osbourne. But, Black Sabbath to me is with Ozzy, plain and simple. That monotonous, whiny vocal style of Ozzy's is what I associate with real Black Sabbath, and of course Iommi's monstrous riffs.

The Dio era of BS is cool, but the band Dio is faaaaar more interesting.

In conclusion - hail Iommi, fuck the cable TV clown.[/i]

Dio Sabbath rules. But Born Again is fucking awesome. Especially "Trashed."

I was actually putting on the "Paranoid" Deluxe-Re-Release, shortly before reading this... Who knows how this might turn out in the end. You may like what he did or not, but eventually Iommi NEVER ever stopped doing anything but music, while Ozzy simply lost it over the years, not the least due to his wife being literally the "Master Of Puppets" within the -say- last 10 + years. It's really a shame, me thinks, because in his prime -be it with SABBATH, or on his own- Ozzy was on top of the fucking game!! You can A.L.W.A.Y.S. put on e. g. "Master Of Reality" or "Blizzard Of Ozz" while lauging out loud about it's ridiculous greatness!! Seeing or hearing early SABBATH unexpected or randomly anywhere (except for "Paranoid", the song, that is) gives me the creeps any given time!!

P.S.
"Born Again" is indeed a great album with some filler material, though! I agree about the demo (bootleg) being far superior to the acutual album as well!!

I mostly wish Ozzy had died alongside Randy Rhoads.

edited for appalling spelling.

There are actually 2 bootlegs around. The first one having a wrong speed and a second adjusted one, the latter having a yellow background to the classic babydevil-with-teeth front! Actually not easily adjustable, but not that impossible to find either.

Regarding the main topic, Ozzy is a celebrity cunt and his wife is an even bigger cunt, and his children are such giant cunts they go off the cunt scale!
