Believe it or not, but you can be a fan of underground metal and still have a normal & hot girlfriend, a decent job, respect amongst your peers and generally be a part of mainstream society...

It's true, but I'd say it's way less than half the time. Most people's minds are too fragile to coexist with drastically contrasting ideals, even if they keep telling themselves "it's just an artform" to cope with their obsession.
