Just won an eBay auction for Monolith's Tales of The Macabre LP test press. According to the auction information, it's only pressed on ten copies, by Vinyl Solution Records, but never went beyond the test press phase for some reason. Is there any particular reasons why this was never released on vinyl at all?

there are some metal records on tests only. the reasons can be numerous I guess. suddenly no budget or no interest ,some died, the pressing factory EXPLODED etc. I dont know what.
I recommend asking thecorroseum.com for that particular release since there are many old die hard collector farts with a heap of knowledge. I can hardly think anyone knows anything about this band but you never know

| I could be wrong here, but I think you have mistaken this release to be 10 copies ever....the test press was 10 copies which is normal for any vinyl release, but this was given a proper release in '93 on vinyl, as I said I could be totally wrong but I can't find any info to suggest it wasn't released. |

So far, I've searched through Google regarding this elusive album and I, too, cannot find any information if it was released on vinyl, other than a couple people's have/want lists.

| i know the burning witch/goatsnake was also a testpress LP only. it was limited to 15 copies and usually goes for $400+ on ebay. |

im pretty sure the monolith lp was never released, back in my tape trading days this was going around as unreleased. I dont know the reason why though
