I missed their London gig, but a friend saw it and described them as pretty underwhelming.

I hope that Grave and Benediction will play good.
I like Pestilence a lot but I've read that they aren't so good
live lately...

Boykot Pestilence at all cost!!

Those clows, especially Mameli cancelled their gig in Vienna 'cause they didn't want to carry their own equipment down some fucking stairs ("We could be hurt" was their excuse) and because it was a "fucking venue" then...
The stage was "too small for a band like us" he said and demanded a Metallica-esque stadium tour incl stage-mixing guy or some fucking shit like that.

I don't know what these guys were doing during the last couple of years (ähm...15 if I'm right), but it can't have been good.
Rockstar clowns at 120%, fuck nowaday's Gaystilence.... Mad

Three well past it bands. Well, two - Benediction never had it in the first place. I saw Grave a few years ago, even though they played tracks from the first two they were still really boring. Ola had a good stage presence, but the rest of the band looked like they were really bored and were just going through the motions.

That stuff about Mameli is ludicrous. As much as I admire their output on the first three albums, Pestilence are a band who haven't played any gigs in years, and have released a new sub par album 15 or so years later on a nobody label. They have no right to demand fuck all. Most bands have to carry their equipment into the venue, the thing is, if you act politely and respectfully to promoters who do their jobs well, 9 times out of 10 they will help you out. Mameli is a fat wigger prick who has treated his fans like shit for years. When releasing a piece of musical excrement like the band just have, he should be thankful people want to book his band, not throw Axl Rose type tantrums.

I have not seen PESTILENCE live myself but judging by these footage they do a pretty good job musically:

I havn't seen Pestilence 2009 live YET, but the live clips I did see appear to be a bit 'boring' performance. .
I would assume they were tired or something, but after hearing their cancellation about how the stage wasn't 'big enough' for them, I'm now thinking otherwise. .

this is what the live in athens was all about:
GRAVE were kinda good but seemed quite tired and bored,a couple of oldies and a shitload of the recent boring stuff, mediocre sound too.
BENEDICTION kicked ass, good sound ,cool stage presence, lots of old stuff, definately way better than their previous shitty show with deicide(in torment in hell era, deicide ruled in that show anyway)
PESTILENCE performed good ,but mameli's voice was hilarious and they were performing as if they were rehearsing, new songs are boring mostly, best moment:"secrecies of horror",i also hate the way they play 'out of the body"nowadays, with those beatdown parts,
400 ppl showed up and that's a success for a tuesday night

we sincerely laughed our ashes with mameli and his shitty rockstar song introductions and weak voice,
on the contrary m.van drunen still rules,i saw hail of bullets live and the guy still shreds...

Morgoth would be awesome to see one day as well. Maybe they will be the next band to reunite. . next to Coroner Wink
