nah... I don't want to Smile

It was a time when bands actually looked metal and not like ghosts, rummage salesmen, or Kojak impersonators. Itís a time now gone.

Well I still love the music of those days, don't get me wrong. I just think its pointless trying to make pseudo 80s music when we're no longer in the 80s!

I find 95% of modern bands who make 'modern' metal pointless, so there you go.

Depends what you mean by 'modern metal'. I think there only needs to be two definitions, true and false. However I don't go in for all this 'retro' crap. I think aside from Dark Forest, though considered doom, Gates of Slumber are another fantastic example. Isen Torr, Portrait, Enforcer etc never seem to be stuck in time but instead are taking the lessons of the awesome bands of the past and doing it their own way. The existance of Helvetets Port however to me is pointless.

However I will say they seem honest in what they're doing anyway. Nothing personal against the band.

Thor was awesome- I literally couldn't believe my eyes at some points- the white sheet was priceless.

Helvetets were destroyed from 3 days of booze and ping pong so the show wasn't exactly the best.

I don't care what bands look like. I wish bands would reveal less. But nobody is expected to use his/her imagination anymore. The internet can tell you everything about a band in an instant. This has huge advantages, but once something is revealed, it can never be hidden again. The internet does not un-learn.
