The funniest phenomenon I can think about when it comes to "sticking to analog" is labels and bands that make their tape releases by copying the music form a master CD-R to tapes.
Yeah, sure, once it's tape - it's not the same music that was on that DIGITAL cd format it was copies from

Its ok since most of the stuff is not recorded in analog studios in an analog format. Really bad thing comes when someone record tapes from mp3 (pc->mp3->cdr->tape).

In Poland we have few labels/distros that still care about tapes and release them like Hail Satan / Total War, Moon Rec, Under the Sign og Garazel, Terror Propaganda, Kampf Rec, Hell is Here, Gruft Prods and few more that carre tapes in thier distro lists so I think is not bad at all

Alos lot of South American bands and labels release tapes and great labels from Thailand as Slava, Incoffin etc release awesome pro done tapes..
To me its great to see any new and young label releasing pro tapes (example-Greek De Umbris)...

I would love to release our next own (not licensed) albums on cd/lp/mc at the same time (maybe we will start soon with the KETZER album, who knows).
I am still into tapes and ku ltsettes and I prefer them over ANY CD/CDr...

As a collector of tapes, I am embarrassed I don't know these terms....

First of all, what exactly is analog and stereo? What are the differences?

Also a question: Let's say you had some rare tapes that broke, would you still keep the tapes(imagine it is a band you like a lot)?

Analog is what you do when you want to cult. Stereo is what you do when you want to trendy.

I dont like tapes, never had either. I dont have a tapedeck, and the only time I ever used kassettes where when I did my paperroute before discman was aviable. In the 80's.

I buy and listen to tapes. Not exclusively, as I'll take an LP over a tape anyday, and in some cases it just makes more sense to buy a CD, but if I see an album I like for cheap then I'll get it. For example, I have tons of old death metal albums on tape because I find most of them for under $6. But being somewhat of an audiophile, I wouldn't be able to live solely off tapes. Some really just sound like shit.
