Are the tapes back and found his good place in underground? Of course its no more mainstream and popular cheap format, but thers still labels/bands that wants to release thier material on cultesste format and people who wants to get them.

I'm interesed what is your opinion? Do you like to listein to and collect tapes?

And for label/distro owners: how sells tapes, it is better, same or wrost than 3-4 years ago?

I still buy tapes, find them cheap and sound fine. www.todestrieb.co.uk is my home for tapes.

cultsettes are selling good, demo tapes are selling less and less.
Not as many releases on tape than 5 years ago though. And 90% of what comes in tape from Europe is not good.

I know a few tape enthusiasts who buy old releases on tape still as a primary format. I buy tape as a cheap format, or buy demo tapes occasionally depending on the band. Most of my tapes are from black metal bands like Satanic Warmaster, Nyktalgia, and bands which have much more expensive LP versions.

I don't see tapes as being as dominant, and would rather opt for LP if money or availability allows except demo tapes or for cheaper alternative to CD/LP versions, since CD became the dominant format in the past 10 years.

I like tapes, but I prefer cds/lps. I'd rather buy a CD for 5 dollars at NWN!'s than a tape for 4. Cool

I have mixed feelings on tapes, I think they are THE demo format, but I've no interest in buying albums on tapes. I never actually play any of my tapes anyway, I always copy my purchases on degradable formats to my computer.

Tapes was selling like crazy some 6 - 7 years ago. I moved endless of tapes during these years.

Nowadays, the 'trend' aren't as open minded about it anymore. I only sell some 5 - 10 tapes a week here now.

I collect tapes, a lot of them, but I moved them to storage since almost a lot of those can't be correctly played now due to molds and if ever that they rolled well, the sound is just not there anymore. I respect bands/people who keep on releasing tapes in these days of technology though.

and yes, a $4 tape is unreasonable if you can simply buy a $5 CD. Not unless if you want to kvltster stuff yourself then go get em tiger!!

tapes has a symbolic and nostalgic significance for me... always is good to have and to collect tapes... specially i like so much the DIY tapes...

however in the last times i have checked some boys who "try to be old" talking about only tapes, only tapes, only tapes...

i think it could be something artificcial and this boys only say that they like tapes, cos they think in this mood they will be "real" ... fuck off !!
i dislike this shit !!!
