I was kindly sent a promo of this upcoming Havohej CD, and all I can say is FUCK. "Kembatinan...." is probably one of the most genuinely EVIL albums I have ever heard. It's industrialized music with an extreme black metal aesthetic and contains one of the most lifeless, doom ridden sounds imaginable.

Be on the lookout. "Kembatinan Premaster" defies the static bestial/necro/hardcore black metal trend and emerges as possibly the most original and convincingly brutal album in a number of years.

I too was fortunate enough to be offered access to a preview of this. While I thought 'Tungkat Blood Want' 10" was excellent, I don't feel this approach can sustain an album and that's exactly what I felt upon listening to this release.

Tungkat blood wand was great, but Hornbook Seytan used samples from tungkat and I just felt it was a pretty cheap release in that way. But the samples from this sound quite different so I'll probably get it.

I heard some tracks on the HHB site, in a similar vein to 'Man and Djinn' (i.e. no riffs, rumbling, throat-attack and samples). Vocals sound great as ever but I can imagine this getting stale quite quickly.

It depends what you're into. This won't suffice if you want to headbang or blast something at a metal party. Otherwise, if you can appreciate obscure, atypical extreme music then “Kembatinan....” will be quite generous.

This is my concern as well. I respected the idea behind "Man and Jinn" and like releases; I didn't find myself listening to it much. I await the new Havohej with an open mind because Paul Ledney is a genius among squat ugly humanzees.

Yeah, he does what he makes very well. Now as for me liking it, maybe not. But the newer release's title track sounds pretty menacing and evil.

The thing I appreciate about Ledney is that he can make music which is brutal, and minimalistic, yet surprisingly 'epic' in it's own right. And without being gimmicky about it, too. It’s genuine stuff which pissess off people who need instant entertainment.

I really looking forward to get this LP, I always liked Profanatica and related projects a lot... It's a kind of 'love them or hate them' type of band....

Profanatitas de Domonatia is a heck of an album, and that's part of what makes me excited to be open-minded for this latest Ledneyism. But many great artists are hit and miss.

I tried to like that Profanatica album. I still have both die hard versions for sale / trade
