I disagree entirely.

Well, doesn't really make me miss them. Of Lightning And Lucifer was quite boring and production was horrid. Their gig in Festung Open Air last year was a bit lazy, but I can understand it was a hard spot for Helmkamp to do both Revenge and Angelcorpse without having a real break in between the sets! Killer gigs anyways.

Have to agree here... Some excellent songs there though, like Hexensabbat and Lustmord.

What I've heard of Blasphemic Cruelty sounded actually much better than Of Lucifer and Lightning. Might check that one at some point. Not miles away from Angelcorpse and more on the old school side of songwriting & style, which funnily enough was the direction Pete seemed to pursue more in Angelcorpse.

Unfortunately, all the recordings are ruined by the triggered drums and its sound, except APOCALYPSE COMMAND for an instance. Of Lucifer and Lightning bores me to death, as well as BLASPHEMIC CRUELTY. APOCALYPSE COMMAND sounds far more interesting, so let's hope to not be future ruined with the production.

This is sad news, but their last effort was pure disappointment.

You mean Terror Organ.
Too bad, though I thought the new album was lackluster compared to the earlier albums, particularly Exterminate and The Inexorable, which are classics.

Yes, thanks for the correction. The new album was weak in the production side of things, a bit muffled in sound and it gets repetitive after a while. Same with Blasphemic Cruelty though i enjoyed it.

When I saw them live several times in the late 90s (still got my 98 tour shirt) they routinely blew away bands like Incantation and Cannibal Corpse. They were a death metal steamroller. I had an even better Wolflust shirt but tragically traded it to the singer of In Aeternum when they were here in 2000. HUGE MISTAKE. Anyway, although I didn't care much for the new LP, I didn't get to see them live last summer and I really regret that - might have changed my mind about those songs.

Apocalypse Command is excellent i never get tired of listening those 3 killer songs .

Exterminate and The Inexorable are simply perfect albums but the last one , maybe i was expecting a lot but , is horrible and boring .

At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, I always thought their first album was their best. Most consistent, and most varied. I'm not really too fussed that they broke up, because I'm selfish, I got to see them live, and their last album was a borefest, so I think their job is done.

Brave words! "hammer of gods" its their more natural sounding and, by far, the more INTENSE work they have ever done! Production was a bit low, but i guess there it is a re-master on cd with a louder mastering...

I figured this was coming soon, seeing how Pete moved to San Fran and (I believe) Gene is still in Tampa.

Am I the only person who dug the new record? New songs stood up remarkably well live when I saw them CRUSH Watain and Nachmystium.

Yeah, I think the new Angelcorpse was pretty good. The guitar tone was not that great, but the songs are brilliant and pretty vicious.

I thought the production was a little weak sounding on the new one, but the songs are as good as anything else they've done IMO.

I agree 100%, the music is beyond killer and Pete's lyrics aren't any less good than on the previous albums, but the production is horrible, it doesn't fit AT ALL. The drums sound way too weak.

One of the best bands ever. I'm glad I saw them live 5 times.

I do hope Impiety will step up to fill the void left by this band.
