From BLABBERMOUTH:
ANGELCORPSE Calls It Quits - Apr. 7, 2009
U.S. blackened death metal band ANGELCORPSE has officially called it quits. The group says in a statement, "Due to musical differences amongst its members, it has been decided with much consideration to end ANGELCORPSE."
ANGELCORPSE's latest album, "Of Lucifer and Lightning", was released in the U.S. last June via Osmose/The End Records. _________________ Label:

They did. I saw them play with Watain. At least we can look foward to the Order from Chaos reunion. |

You mean Terror Organ.
Too bad, though I thought the new album was lackluster compared to the earlier albums, particularly Exterminate and The Inexorable, which are classics. |

Blasphemic Cruelty is really generic shit tbh. it's getting redundant by now.. am i being too harsh? I just thought it was pretty mediocre. |

I figured this was coming soon, seeing how Pete moved to San Fran and (I believe) Gene is still in Tampa.
Am I the only person who dug the new record? New songs stood up remarkably well live when I saw them CRUSH Watain and Nachmystium. _________________ RSTLSS NRV Layout & Design |

Yeah, I think the new Angelcorpse was pretty good. The guitar tone was not that great, but the songs are brilliant and pretty vicious. |

I thought the production was a little weak sounding on the new one, but the songs are as good as anything else they've done IMO. |

Too bad -- one of the few bands that understood the spirit of black metal. _________________ DEATH METAL UNDERGROUND |

FUCK! I had been holding onto the hope that Angelcorpse would sooner or later tour Australia/New Zealand, as early last year there had been a post on the Osmose websites news section stating that they were planning such a trip at some future stage...
I'm sure the Sons of Fucking Vengeance would have gotten a killer welcome and response from the maniacs downunder. RIP. _________________ TRADE & RELIABLE MANIACS LIST: http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7973 |

I don't recall them quitting before, but shame indeed.
They had a powerful set during the Blood of the Damned tour last year!
Their latest album was quite enjoyable. Totally blew away the recent Vital Remains in that time.
Great album cover, too! _________________ Speeding Through Hell!

I thought "Devil's Mayhem" was pretty damned good. Surprised how little I've heard about it. Hell, I didn't even know it was out until someone at a show told me a couple months ago. |

They disbanded after the release of The Inexorable and reformed in '06.
