This is the second vs. discussion so I decided to keep it old school before we discussed anything 90's or newer, so we'll keep it in the 80's for awhile.
I did not want to make this a poll with a deciding winner, because every album talked about will be a classic and a legendary release in it's own right , but only a discussion about your opinions on the two Albums and on which one you like better. So with that being said, the two albums for VS. #2 will be:

Possessed "Seven Churches" VS. Slayer "Hell Awaits"

For me personally this is a harder decision to make than the first versus. Both albums to me have no flaws whats so ever and have been played well over 100 times each.

But I'll have to go with Seven Churches

Which will you choose?

It's actually the 4th versus...haha.

I vote for the creators of Show No Mercy and Reign In Blood...always and forever my favorite metal band.

edit: Now that I have realized that I am an idiot and didn't really read the thread...still slayer. Razz

True as that may be, The discussion is only about the two albums.

"Hell Awaits" by a bloody mile, despite "Seven Churches" being fucking great as well! Not the least, due to "Hell Awaits" being by far my favourite SLAYER album, it simply has such an eerie aura, only matched by very few contemporaries back then! Twisted Evil

Sevenchurches, without too much hesitations...

Never listened too much of Slayer, I rapidly began with Death metal...

I really don't see the basis for the comparison between these two albums/bands; I think of Slayer and Possessed as being completely different in my mind but if I had to pick it would be Hell Awaits.

Show No Mercy, Haunting The Chapel and Hell Awaits is simply perfect, but also Reign In Blood and South Of Heaven are acceptable albums too.

Slayer Wins !!

I have always wondered how does it felt for those who lived that era , to listen Hell Awaits in 85, or see them live ??? damn lucky bastards .
