Hell yes! The mockery of the crucifixion on the burning beach is one of the best band shots ever.

as long as you don't store records in a basement or attic, i could care less!... i think thats the cardinal sin.. i recently scored a lot of venom lp's on ebay... you can tell they were bought in the 80's ...he had all of em in plastic sleeves, and seemed like they were stored that way for over 20 years... but ALL of them stink to high heaven of mildew... its a permanent stench! so bad, i have to seperate them from my other vinyl ... they also have a film of dirt on the cardboard and records... i've also bought still-sealed copies of old records, yet the dirt and stench managed to get inside the cellophane! ... basements and cellars ruin everything! it sucks!

Fucking hell, what a bunch of geeks. The fucking box will keep the dust off the vinyl... Confused I was listening to the boxset the other day. Great stuff. Surely Metal is to be listened to not wrapped in fucking bubble wrap... Get a life for crying out loud.

no missing inserts
no tears on covers
no skips

everything else is not important
I have some quite worn LPs, especially covers. I'm fine with that

Don't ever piss off a girl and have her touch your vinyl record collection. Shocked

My sentiments exactly. I'm not worried too much about the condition as long as everything has not been subjected to extreme neglect. I wish I have speakers, time and a proper turntable to play my records more often since I've got too many vinyl records that is begging to be played.

haha, great thread.

There's a fine line between storing your vinyl in some underground air-tight vault and just not being an idiot in treating your music. Yeah, records sound quality deteriorates, but it takes many listens to do so. My only record that I can't play is Venom's Black Metal, however given all of the stories about this record, who's owned it, where it was located, it's a miracle the thing only skips due to large scratches. Otherwise it sounds like it probably did 25 years ago as far as playback quality goes.

All but maybe 5 or less records of mine have poly bags with them. They either come free, or i can spend 5-10 cents per bag down the street if need be. I don't get too worried about them if they don't have it though, it's just a small measure to keep them looking good, and most of the time I get them with the records so what does it hurt?

It's not hard to enjoy your records, keep them away from the elements, and keep the damned things stored in a box except when playing them. Face it, your record collection will probably survive Armageddon and Rapture combined.
