What hugely influential/popular/classic bands have you never heard, either deliberately avoided or just never got round to it?

I'm gonna confess to Deathspell Omega.

Literally every single classic Rock band that the majority of humanity already heard, yes, I am talking about Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Lynyrd, I am literally ignorant when it comes to this.

Of course at some point I might heard one of these on TV/Public, but I do not directly recognize them.

Fred Durst is from a small town outside of my city that is notoriously trashy/shitty/methy/redneck as all hell. I've met people that knew him and everyone had nothing but shit things to say about him. Always thought that was funny. Not sure why they're so big in Europe still....

Beatles, Zeppelin, Floyd, Rush and many other 'classic' bands. I'd have heard a couple of the 'hits' many years ago and vowed to never listed again. No loss in my opinion. That said, I'm sure I listen to other bands directly influenced by the few named above.

Would probably be easier to list albums I've never heard before.

Also... how do you never hear the Beatles, Rush or Zeppelin? Are you 18 and never had coworkers, friends with different musical taste, parents, a job that had the classic rock station play? Just curious.

That's also weird to me, but today Fallen Angel of Doom is a click away, so...

Yeah, that's pretty impossible. Except maaaaaaybe not hearing Rush, as they don't have as many hits as the Beatles or Zeppelin. Surely these people have heard them, even if it's just playing over the PA in a store or gas station or something. They just don't know that's who they are hearing.

Kinda on topic: I work with a guy who's 60 years old... and he's never HEARD OF, let alone heard Led Zeppelin that he knows of. I mean, he was in his 20's in the 70's and had never ever heard their name until I brought them up a few years ago. WHAT THE FUCK. He's also never heard of George Carlin. Some people....
