I have Ereb Altor and Jex Thoth from the I Hate releases of last year. Ereb Altor is mid tempo Hammerheart worship, with strong musicianship. Leaves a very mellow, and at times dreamlike impression (which is a bit strange), but a very solid album. Definitely not something I feel like putting on at any time, but when I'm in the mood for it, its great! Very good background music too.

Jex Thoth, some love and some hate, I belong in the former group. To some it rings a bit hollow and unauthentic or something, but I don't get the vibe at all. Like the Witchcraft debut with less strong musicianship but superior vocals, and a more ethereal feel. The texture of Jex Thoth's voice is amazing to these ears, and really help the album shine. Anyway; approach with caution, its quite mellow, on the limit between doom and 70's rock to an even higher degree than Witchcraft et.al.

I like his vocals a lot, makes them stand out from the more obvious sounding BM/DM bands on the go.
Check out the Rebirth of Nefast/ Slidhr split too (the 12" is particularly tasty). Slidhr's vocals are similar in style but more dramatic in delivery (or something).

Most of those bands listed have a Myspace, or a Last.fm page with audio up. Not to mention P2P networks, IRC for the nerds, and Torrents. If you have the internet (which you obviously do) why haven't you heard bands you are interested in?

Ondskapt, Watain, Katharsis, Revenge, ???

If you like Martyrium from Germany go and get it !!!

i think best comparsion would be: martyrium lux occulta cd + death ss 1st LP. first track on that "in seacula..:" lp kinda sucks but the rest is ACE.

No one here likens Negative Plane to Mercyful Fate? Or Samael? Some riffs reek of these bands.

And it rules, of course.

I'd say that they belong firmly in the Mercyful Fate - Master's Hammer - Mortuary Drape branch of the Black Metal family. More frantic riffing and disharmony, yes, but much the same style and feel. For me, their debut is possibly the single best BM-release of the 00's. Highly recommended.

Furdidurk - I haven't heard much outside of their Demo and split with Bone Awl, but from this I can tell you that it is pretty standard "raw Black Metal" in the vein of Ildjarn. It's pretty good, in my opinion it's better than Bone Awl, but I would still take Akitsa and Forteresse over both of these bands.

Bone Awl sounds nothing like Furdidurk. Furdidurk is more flowing black metal in the Norse style and less Ho-Down like Bone Awl is. I'm not sure what Bone Awl you're listening to because all Bone Awl is pretty heavily punk sounding to me. I hear a lot of 80's punk like Reagan Youth in their sound.

I've listened to Bog Bodies/Magnetism of War, and Not for Our Feet . I don't hear any "WE ARE THE SONS OF REAGAN... Heeeil!" in it, at all. I guess I can see the punk feel from "Almost Dead Man" now that I listen to it again.

Like I said, I have only heard "Main Song" and a few demo songs by Furdidurk can't really get a good grasp of what the band sounds like. From what I heard I hear some pretty standard Raw BM, I remember thinking " eh, is this Empire of Hate, Visions?" when I heard it.

empire of hate - visions of a better time was released 3 or 4 years after the furdidurke material....

Try to find stuff by R.U. Dead? if you can. Some of the Poison guys went on to do this, and I think it's even better than Poison!

The first Peste Noire LP is pretty good, as is the first few demos. The latest LP, "Ballade cuntre lo Anemi Francor" is really good, in my opinion. "Folkfuck Folie" is decent, a lot of people dislike it, but I don't mind it. Like most French and/or French Canadian speaking bands they have that "raw" and dissonant feeling to them at times and some traditional styled folk music through-out but instead of pulling out flutes and acoustic guitars all the time (which they use sometimes) they just weave the sounds in using their electric guitars. Good stuff, overall.

Not Interesting band IMO. Still don't understand why everybody overrate this...

Same. I personally dislike them quite intensely. Piss me off they do.
