Listening Heretic Metal again after some years and I must say I think it's a KILLER album!! Was this ever released on vinyl and are their other releases just as good??
Damn, I'm not a headbanger or standard Metalhead or something but this CD makes me want to break my neck, bang my head and crush and destroy things hehehe! The drums are amazing, the songs, the production.. Only the cover and booklet layout is a bit lame..
Anyone into these crazy Finns as well? What happened with them? |

Yeah, great band. I think I have Heretic Metal on CD, but I'm not sure.
I believe Ari (the guitarist/vocalist) quit and started a band in the vein of Ultima Thule called Kalevalan Viikingit. |

I think the two MCDs on Wild Rags are the best material from this band. I really like the primitive Venom/Hellhammer style combined with casio keyboards. The later stuff was a it too refined for my taste. _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not have access to my old Yahoo addresses.

The first Hellhammer influenced demos, the Wild Rags CDs and especially the Promo '94 (The Eyes Of Lamaia) are really really good.
"Hell CD" features with "Visitor From Death" their best track in my opinion. _________________ Tradelist + Good Traders:

| Finnish Metal is a fantastic occult heavy metal record- criminally underrated. Vocals are a bit strange at first, but after a few listens you realise how great it is. I'm still searching for a few of their releases. |

Great , sadly bit forgotten Finish band! Their Rivendell LP is absolutely fucking stunning. The Vocals, and old-school riffs just deliever... Iron Bird and Black Rebel are totally killer numbers. Check the re-issue lp , it should be still available somewhere! _________________ "Fuck the Bodom, We give you Sodom!"

Morningstar is one of the many bands whose later releases are unknown to me without any proper reason. Rivendell is the last release that I've heard. What am I missing when it comes to the releases after Rivendell?
In almost every band of Ari Honkonen, the vocals are an acquired taste to put it nicely...
Speaking about awful vocals, any Perkele fans in here? I remember liking the demos when they were released, but I have never dared to touch the Erotic Circus album... Much too erotic cover.
Here's an interview I made in late 94. Sorry for the bad English, chaotic content & South American School of exclamation mark usage...

Can you define fan? I thought the first 2 tapes were nothing special and in fact below average. But suddenly when they started doing this drunken-version-of-the-Cure gothic shit, they skyrocket to near the top position of ridiculous bands I enjoy listening to. The CD is right up there with Welter and Northland. Try it when intoxicated!
As for Morningstar, "War & Victory" is definitely among my all-time top 10 of Finnish metal tunes. |

Quoted from two other forums, both Morningstar and Heathen Hoof will have new releases coming sometime during this year.
When it comes to the upcoming Morningstar LP called Metal Turisas:
| Quote: | | But there`s one Lp coming (unreleased material + some live tracks from our last gig) in the near future. |
It will at least include a rehearsal session from 1999 of Weight Of The Hammer LP tracks.
So not any new songs, the band is not reforming.
As for Heathen Hoof:
| Quote: | Looks like we`ll do a full lenght vinyl Lp in the winter, new songs..
The newer stuff is very vintage & original, like old Scorps & UFO meets the Sweet & NWOBHM and even Böhse Onkelz!! |
Based on the description, the new material will also divide opinions heh.
Both LPs will be released by Metal Warning. |

Finnish Metal is a classic, great band but I think this band has not gotten the recognition they deserve, maybe a box set would be a great idea _________________ I spoke to God this morning and he don't like you.
