Norma Evangelium Diaboli is probably the closest we'll ever get to Deathlike Silence Productions, as far as clearness of vision goes. It's hard to even think of another label with a comparable impact aesthetically, musically, and spiritually. Not counting the reissues, which one of their first 10 release had the most profound impact on you?

It was a toss between Deathspell Omega's SMRC & Kenose however I went with SMRC.

I used to love a lot of these releases but I haven't revisited most of them as time went by.

SMRC stands above all.

Katharsis is significant for the feminine and inclusive impact on the BM scene.

the DSO stuff (which in and of itself was not completely original) spawned a legion of imitators and clones that have plagued BM to this day. Sure, there's room for some angular dissonant stuff, but it shouldn't be half the releases that exist nowadays. So, therefore, I'd say it had the most impact.

Salvation is the album I've listened to the most, and most regularly.

Agreed.

All of these are great releases but it is obvious that SMRC is always first place in any poll on this board.

By mile. Actually that is the only record on the list that stood the test of time.

Salvation of course. But DSO is a very close second

SMRC, in terms of greatest impact on me back in the day. Salvation close second. These days I think any album by Katharsis kicks everyone's ass big time though.

Salvation is my sentimental pick, it's the album that rekindled my love for black metal. Lots of great options on that list though.

I don't like any of mentioned (and especially not DsO and all that dissonant stuff), except Katharsis, so there it goes.

Can't really pick between Blood Libels, VVorldVVithoutEnd and SMRC/KÚn˘se.

I listen to the first two a lot whilst lifting so I musta heard them more. Of the two Blood Libels has probably had the greatest musical influence upon me.
