Heh, I think it's worth the $30, but you're also talking to someone that has five versions of Don't Break the Oath and the album cover of 9 tattood on his chest so maybe I'm a bit biased Laughing

What are the five versions ? I've got three myself (vinyl, cd, cassette). I'm guessing Pic Disc maybe and additional cd versions ? And out of curiosity, why did you choose to go with the 9 album cover tattoo over the obvious DBTO tattoo ?

I've got the cd version of Sabbath Of All Witches but I'm a MF fanatic as well so i'll probably have to buy this. Hell's Headbangers also has an interesting MF 'Devil Eyes' boot shirt right now as well.

for DBTO I have:
vinyl LP original pressing
vinyl LP reissue
CD version reissue
Tape original (Combat Recs)
Tape (Koch Entertainment)

I also have that 'two from the vault' with Return of the Vampire, so technically 6 but I dont really count that one. I still need the original CD and the picture disc. Also want the Japanese pressing on LP.

and DBTO is the most common MF tattoo, I've never seen someone with 9. Plus the cover art had a personal meaning to me at that point in my life. I don't believe in heaven, I dont believe in hell, so save your god for someone else or save him for yourself! Cool

Recently received this vinyl, and I must say it's fucking amazing. It's a recording of the very first Mercyful Fate show ever and has some killer photos that I'd never seen before, as well as unreleased songs. You can even hear a VERY early version of Curse of the Pharaohs. I must say that this band was just as heavy if not heavier than VENOM in 1981, this live recording is even up to par with the material on Return of the Vampire.

Absolutely mandatory for any Mercyful Fate fanatic, but only 325 were made so make your purchase quickly before they fade away into metal collections forever!

Yes, I have seen this several times on Ebay. It looks fucking great! One of the coolest of the recent released bootlegs with them. I think many of these recently released have far too computerized and modern artworks which really is annoying. This 'The First Sacrifice' seem to capture the old true spirit of the band. That is what I like. But it should also be released on a regular LP with poster or/and insert.

OK, fine. If I had the cash, I'd buy this. But I don't unfortunately, so I have to resort to being a bitter and broke prick.

It's cool as a historical document and nice "collectible" to own. But really, the sound is crap. Yeah, it's nice and raw, but I'd still rather listen to the full-length studio albums as a true representation of the band.

That's still awesome. I plan on get a DBTO one at some point; That album changed my life

"Horror Records" also have them in stock, for anyone in Europe interested. Yeah, that new bootleg shirt "Hell's Headbangers" are selling looks ace as well. Also, I fucking HATE to see old MF motives on shirts (talking about the most recent official DBTO one), featuring the newer, modified logo! Why fuck with perfection in the first place!

Yeah I agree, it just doesn't look right with the Don't Break the Oath-artwork,
and just "Mercyful Fate" with some kind of font. Bah, it's just half-hearted really...

Yeah, it's the same show. Denmark, summer 1981 (their very first by most accounts).
