We had a conversation with a friend and the topic was which of the five Motörhead guitarists (and their sound) we like best. What do you think?

I worship Fast Eddie Clarke era

Fast Eddie is a genius, but I think I like Phil Campbell more.

I voted for Fast Eddie, but if activity outside is considered Motörhead, I'd vote for Robertson. I love Thin Lizzy.

Every Motorhead album that has ever been released is good.

I think the best cuts Motorhead ever wrote were during the Fast Eddy era, though my 2nd fave Motorhead cut was 'I'm So Bad' from '1916'. That song just gets me every fucking time! Classic video too!

I think that Phil Campbell is a great guitar player however and come on, he's been with the band forever and they have made some excellent records, particularly in recent years.

Though I would cite Motorhead as my favourite band ever, I don't think they made an album classic from start to finish. I guess what's killer about Motorhead is that they are so much bigger than their tunes alone. I do wish they'd give it away though. It's gonna be harder and harder to remember the Motorhead of yore if Lemmy keeps on well into his 60's.

And this is not to suggest that they aren't still making great albums, it's just weird for me is all.

Stating the obvious, but the classic Motorhead line-up is Lemmy, Fast Eddie Clarke and Phil "Phily Animal" Taylor of course.

Wurzel and Phil Campbell deserve their respect too though, as does Mikkey Dee.

Don't forget the Lemmy action figure too. That's not very cool.

One thing that bugs the fuck out of me, is the way their discography has been totally fucked with by countless "best of" and compilation releases.
