The exact same stuff could be said about Black Witchery and Revenge(though I don't agree about sloppy drumming), do you like those bands or no? By the sounds of it you just don't like this style which is no big deal unless you are looking for a good excuse to wear sunglasses indoors.

Well, not really. Haven't really heard Revenge and what I've heard of Black Witchery is somewhat the same, although I think they have a better sound.

Maybe dAHMER is right.

Check out Blasphemophager and Rites of Thy Dygringolade for some clearer riffage.

My least favorite of the 4 albums but I still fucking love it, Unholy Wine of Fornication is one of the most relentless and intense Proclamation songs hands down. I always felt like this record sounded the most like Sarcofago out of the four.

Advent is an absolute monument of black/death metal, I still worship that album after all of these years.

If you didn't like Proclamation definitely check out Holocausto, Nyogthaeblisz or old Tetragrammacide, that should be right up your alley!

Iíve been a fan of and bought every album when they were released. I donít like a lot of 3rd rate War//Goat bands and I fucking dig the hell out of Proclamation so I donít know what your deal is. Total boneheaded barbaric metal cranked-up to 11.

Proclamation are great I don't think they have released anything monumental though.

The music is layered I didn't like them either the very first time I heard them you need let it sink in. I really do hope the box set is still planned. I still regret trading off my LPs and shirts a few years ago.

It's fine, it took some time for me to get here as well.

So I just managed to get through the second album of Proclamation, and the following thoughts are in my mind:

The song structures are so simple that I'm having a hard time telling the songs apart from each other. I can't believe this band has like 40 songs. I mean, how could they tell them apart?

The guitarist only seems to use the E and A strings (part from the "solos"), while the bass uses only the E string. Furthermore, they use like max 5 chords on the whole record.

The drumming is very sloppy, so I'm not exactly dropping on my knees due to intensity.

The question arises: What the hell is the thing with this band that I am missing? Is it supposed to be some kind of musical equivalent to horror movies or a soundtrack to war? The lyrical content reminds me of Indiana Jones Temple of Doom mixed with random phrases of sacrifice this and blood that and "sabbatical desolation and abomination vengeance" etc.

I mean, the Blasphemy worship is obvious, but at least Blasphemy had riffs ffs. Also, the Von influence is here with the undeniably cool red/black aesthetics. But whereas Von succeeds in creating a nice atmosphere with their minimalism, this is just....dull.

What do you think?

Wrong.

Can't really say much about this album honestly, I honestly prefer "Advent Of The Black Omen" and "Nether Tombs Of Abaddon" by miles. Killer band nonetheless.

Fingers crossed for vinyl re-releases, or boxsets and merch like other posters have specified previously
