Hunting Eyes is the best track imo. Also sounds closest to what I'd call Classic Sargeist sound. Not completely down with the rest of album yet though.

I only recently started listening to Let The Devil In a few months ago. Excellent record, but so much more polished than Satanic Black Devotion. Not sure which I prefer. Black Fucking Murder is hands down my favourite track of theirs though.

Good production but different type of riffs for the most part.

Yes, I do agree. I have listened twice now. I like it. But, this album sounds different than all the previous ones, not to mention the album art. This new release sounds more like Horna trying to play like Behexen. Which, while not being a bad thing, it isn't really what Sargeist was (to my ears at least).

I've always been more on the early Behexen side of things, Sargeist never really clicked with me until I heard Let the Devil In. So many emotive riffs all in the good nature of the beast. I have heard nothing they did after.

Will always be a devotee of SBD and the ep's and early releases (especially the split with Horned Almighty, possibly the most evil and twisted Sargeist ever recorded), but this is fantastic. They sort of lost me after Disciples, but some excellent riffs on here and an atmosphere that easily matches the old recordings. Looking forward to the vinyl.

I feel the same way when people constantly harp over Henbane when Haxan is the superior album.

Are you bringing CdG into a Sargeist thread?

Fucking great liveband: cold, hateful, static, evil.. the way it was meant to be.
I would recommend anyone to go and see them live.

not to mention their energy, this was maybe the fourth time i've seen them and they still tore through their set with a momentum that makes them really stand out. all bands did great yesterday, but sargeist stood as titans and yes, their new singer is fucking great too.

Great album. Stand out is the title track so far (a bit Horna-ish), but could listen to this a few more times to enjoy many of the other great tracks.

On my initial listen I loved it, because it was new Sargeist. On the second and third listen (after the honeymoon phase) I find it to be pretty generic overall. Some of it is the production, and some of it is the new singer, but it sounds like a run-of-the-mill BM band.

Just to be clear, it is a good, well made album with some good riffs, but it just isn't wowing me.

But isn't this what exactly is Sargeist? Never has been creating anything new, just well excecuted black metal. But as they have more memorable songs and riffs is why most people remember Sargeist and not Vargsang.

New album sounded definitely much better than the sound fiasco on "Feeding".
