Upon reflection I would have to say my one and true holy grail is Mefisto-Megalomania. Infernal Death and Flames of Hell are good, but Mefisto-Megalomania does not have any filler and is a great demo. It also does not have all the hype around it like FOH and Infernal Death do, as the hype tends to mislead me...

Infernal Death are hyped? I have two dubs and theyre ok, nothing special
whats the deal with them

I like Infernal Death a lot. Thing is, many tape traders are in denial that their favorite bands are on the internet, and hence accessible to anyone. Infernal Death was not online until last year(I believe), and I.D. were hailed as the "last great secret" of the tape trading era. Once they came online, many diehards wanted to hear this last great secret, and hence the hype. I.D. are hyped, but not as much as Malfeitor(US). I still would love to have an Infernal Death tape or a Flames of Hell LP, but the best demo by far is Mefisto-Megalomania. The musicianship is incredible, and I enjoy all four songs on Megalomania, whereas I might only enjoy two songs on Infernal Death and maybe 3 or 4 with Flames of Hell.

So why do you post topics looking for a Flames of hell LP if you'd only enjoy 3/4 songs of it? You might look into the mirror before you start talking about hypes.

My holy grail is currently Acid King's "Acid King" 10" on Sympathy for the Record Industry.
#2 would be A.K.'s "Down with the Crown" 10" on Man's Ruin

Number 3 is Crimson Moon's "Under the Serpentine Spell" LP.

2 things, mostly...

Iron Maiden - The Soundhouse Tapes 7" (I'm gathering up the courage to ACTUALLY purchase this one, the pricetag is ridiculous...)

Iron Maiden - Twilight Zone 7" BROWN vinyl (This is supposedly limited to only SEVEN or EIGHT copies! Long, unnecessary background to this one. Regardless, I know 4 people who have one, and it goes for well over $5,000)

Some others...

Conqueror - War Cult Supremacy DTM Picture disc
Conqueror - Annihilate Promo
Weapon - 7" and Demos

Everything else is sorta background, and I've got most of my wants!

Well I did say the hype tends to mislead me. I like 3-4 songs of FOH, but the hype is an incredible draw value. The fact that less than 10 known people have it in the world, the whole story behind it(YMCA etc) all add to the hype. Also that fact that it is pretty original too. There is also the "chase is better than the catch" notion. I still would like it, but to take it from purely a musical direction Mefisto is by far the best. Of course this is my view and you may not agree with it.

Fuckkkk... now those are unholy grails! Lucky guy.

For me, I don't know really - I have lots of rare records, but I don't think I have found my ultimate grail yet.

I need Black Hole - Land of Mystery, Paul Chain - Detaching from Satan and Razor - Armed and Dangerous. Mmmm

winter funeral - 'Bénis Les Ténèbres, Ô Mon Âme' (CDr album)
Sacramentary Abolishment - Demo 1998
As I Lay Dying (Visceral Evisceration) - promo tape 1995

Winter Funeral is near non-existent. I haven't seen any reason to believe that the SA demo exists outside of the internet. AILD was only sent to labels and zines as a promo as far as I know.

Back in the day I had several holy grails.
I managed to collect all 3 of them.

They were:

X - I'll Kill You 7"
Sabbat - 1st 7"
Zadkiel - Highway 7" flexi

I actually managed to pick up 2 copies of the 1st Sabbat 7".
the first I got for about 420 dollars on a Japanese auction site. the 2nd I picked up at a record shop in Tokyo for about 230 dollars. picked it up because of the amazing price and to use for trade material.

I got the Zadkiel flexi with 2 different covers as well. Which I didnt know existed.

Now, I dont have Holy Grails, just things I wouldnt mind picking up.
Like the more recent Sabbat 7"s (ive slipped on picking up new releases the past few years)
also the split from Prowler/Yoke of Steel - Heavy Metal Power On 8"
