I'd be very interested to get some feedback on this pic. This was a test sketch that I intended to ink - then I started playing with coloring it as is, and here's how it turned out. I have a copy of my sketch so I could still ink it in a more normal fashion - but I kind of like this version, it has a weird grim effect because of the messy way I did it. What do you think - use this version, or redo it?

By the way, this is called "Lady Death's Perfumed Bosom." I wouldn't usually make a point of saying that, but I like that title. cause, y'know... death and tits. Very Happy

Love this one, the best one in my opinion, love the color choice and the delicately bleak atmosphere...impressed,

Thanks man - I had a hard time getting responses on that one (not just here), I guess it just didn't click with people too much. But I like the creepy atmosphere and the fact that it doesn't seem real in any sense - almost like a picture version of a very bleak fairytale.

I'm curious about that, 'cause a few people seemed not to like it too much - that pic is intended to look like that. It's not supposed to be a very detailed or realistic look, it's more designed like a book illustration. That's why the hatching for the shadows is so deliberately artificial. I guess that doesn't work for everybody though.

it just looks so stiff when compared to the other stuff,it makes it less interesting to gaze upon, esp cos its a good concept and has more potential

Thanks for the feedback. I dunno, I still like it the way it is, but I can see why someone might prefer a more subtle and real-looking version.

Eh, I'd rather just move on to the next thing. Very Happy I have a tiny attention span - I'd sooner crank out a different drawing every day or two than keep working on the same thing. The plus side is that I get so immersed when I am working on my latest project that I can't do anything else... I'll start doodling something and then I can't do anything else for hours until it's finished.

Couple recent things - these were both commissioned for demo covers.

The "Lady Death" image reminds me of the Verminous LP cover...I always liked that picture despite it's discomforting gross factor...this one differs a little in atmosphere and I like it too.

Thanks - yeah, I think there's something almost primordially disturbing about mother/nursing imagery that is twisted in some way.
