Perhaps borderline for being overwhelming, but CARNIVORE album Retaliation! Listened it after a long time between the previous time and got suprised about how bass driven the sound really is.

If you can handle slam then peep out Diphenylchloroarsine, truly disgusting/raunchy low end brutalization. Downright one of the "heaviest" recordings in existence. THe album is about an alien race decimating humankind and it sounds like it.

good bands to check out are Frame 313, Godstomper, Water Torture, Sordo etc.
