Vinyl of the anniversary comp, a CD of it, CD of Secret Sudaria, two tour shirt designs, a necklace, and two different patches, if I remember right.

Caught Mortuary Drape and Volahn both in Houston and in Los Angeles, and both fucking annihilated each time.

Caught the tour last night. Volahn were great as always. Odd to see them as a three piece though. Didn't get to stay for the entirety of Mortuary Drape's set, but what I saw was stellar.

On another note, what the fuck was that second opening band...

That was Botanist. I actually left during their set and was prepared to eat the cost of a second ticket just so I could go outside and get some real food. The Metro door guy was cool about it and didn't make me pay a second time though.

If you heard some drunk dude outside shouting about how gay and riffless that set was, that was probably me. Who the fuck's idea was it to have that band open for MD?

Yeah, they were fucking gay. Sounded like Sigur Ros fans who watched Until the Light Takes Us once.

Not sure who would have been an appropriate opener. The bay area scene is agonizingly boring.

I actually enjoy Botanist but I agree that they were incredibly mismatched for this show. Arguably even more mismatched was the first band! I assume that the bands were chosen almost at random by the out of town promoter who didnít know the scene. I wouldíve gone with Funeral Chant! I saw some of that bandís members at the show, it wouldíve been a much better fit.

MD were absolutely killer in LA.
Raging crowd. . was not expecting such a turnout.
Good merch, great prices . I'm sure they were ace in Oakland as well.

Botanist opening for Mortuary Drape? Wow, that's weird.

I feel like Botanist could've been a really great druidic black metal band, but instead they went off the deep end into some really difficult territory to execute. I'm not really sure if I enjoy it or not. I think my acknowledgement of the potential is really the extent of my admiration. Probably would've been bored to death sitting through them as well.

I digress-- very much looking forward to seeing Mortuary Drape once they hit Providence towards the end of the tour. I saw that they would have copies of their DVD on sale? Hopefully that won't sell out by then.

First and only time I saw M13D was when they closed Maryland Deathfest in 2012. Really amazing performance. I regrettably missed their US tour with Mgla a few years ago. I can't wait to see them in at Dusk. They'll open a portal to the beyond and swallow the building whole.

Fuck! Bought the wrong size MD shirt. If anyone wants to pick up an XL I've got a medium I have no use for. Oh well.

Fantastic fucking gig regardless!

Haha thanks. But if I can't just swap it for a bigger size I'll just give it to my wife.

How was the turn out last night? My friend in Chicago said itís like an hour outside the city, and public transportation is nearly non existent. Also saw a photo of the place during load in and it looks MASSIVE.

It was decent, couple hundred people. Sargeist had the best sound Ive probably heard in that place. Its a bit cavernous. Volahn was like watching paint dry. Drape was Drape. Door was a bit steep at $35.
