Been listening to a ton of them lately. Any similar bands, especially with an emphasis on the medieval atmosphere? The only ones I can think of are In Gowan Ring, and Dead Can Dance to an extent... I've heard Der Blutharsch aren't that great.

Early Der Blutharsch is absolutely mandatory if you like The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath a Cloud. Especially Track of the Hunted.

TMLHBAC was a great band, perharps you would like Percival, The Soil Bleeds Black or even Laboratorium Pieśni......

I know you mentioned the medieval atmosphere specifically, but if you like the more militaristic late-TMLHBAC stuff, the first Der Blutharsch is an extension of that just without Alz's vocals, and the next few albums are good as well.

Old DB is amazing, later era not so much...When Did Wonderland End was awful and with the exception of the Philosopher's Stone I stopped listening to them after that.

If you enjoy TMLHBAC , then try Les Jumeaux Discordants , s/t and Sang Pour Sang release. They give some of the same kind of atmosphere imo.

They collaborated with Hybryds and Deutsch Nepal, check out some of their releases from back then.

Might also be interested in some of the Cold Meat Industry artists from that era though that'd be branching out a bit. Ataraxia, Arcana, raison d'être, Ordo Equilibrio, Rome.

Menace Ruine also has vocals that reminiscent of Alzbeth.

Deutsch Nepal collab was excellent.

The Soil Bleeds Black and the like....well that's like comparing Conan The Barbarian to Deathstalker III. While they could be lumped together in the sub genre - there's really no similarities especially in terms of quality.

Just stick with the S/T and Amara Tanta Tyri.

There is really nothing like Moon Lay Hidden out there. At least nothing good. Jägerblut can also not be compared to them as well.
If there is something that might be slightly similar, then some older Songs from Deutsch Nepal, but this is just about atmosphere. Also, maybe try to get your Hands on the very rare and expensive 7" from Bearer Of The Inmost Sun, also a Project from Vienna. This guy also did some Sound Engineering when Der Blutharsch played live (mentioned as Eric Sinister Dexter in the credits).
