Anyone heard of or remember Ravn from Norway? It featured some members of Forgotten Woods. The first demo "Herskere" was very raw, minimal black metal kind of like the first FW demo. The second demo "Arisk makt of Aere" was much more in line with "The curse of mankind" album though with a completely raw and stripped down rehearsal level production.

I especially enjoy the second tape.

The band changed it's name to Raven and released an EP via No Colours records called "Fascist Machine", or simply "F.M." as NC had printed it on the cover. I haven't heard it though.

Demo downloads:

Raven did a really shitty looking LP on Darkland. I think it had some of that demo stuff on it. It sounded like total shit though

I haven't heard the Raven stuff, but I understand that it's extremely raw. Is the Darklands LP an official release or something bootlegged?

I remember this FASCIST MACHINE mcd on No colours with the useless cover . pretty harsh sounding black metal , but nothing exceptional .

I have this cd as well - its not bad, but I've had it for over 9 or 10 years now and have only listened to it a few times. Forgotten Woods was much better...

Thanks for the demo uploads. The first demo was limited to 100 copies and the second to 50 copies, never heard them before.
In Skogen #2, Rune told that No Colours offered a deal on cd, but he refused the deal because the material was not intended to be released on cd.
Never heard the Raven material either.

Both No Colours guys begged F.W. to play like Darkthrone, so there you have Ravn/Raven. They recorded a shitload of rehearsals, some of them made it to the MCD and demos mentioned.

The demo LP is official. That Darkland guy is close to the No Colours guy, that's why he released vinyls of some older NC bands (Graveland). Back then he was standing behind the No Colours table at shows because the NC guys hated it.

I never gave a listen to that band nor did I give No Colours further attention, so I only knew of one No Colours guy, Steffen Zopf. The abbreviation of “Fascist Machine” is ironic, and I read this record was something for people dismissing Ildjarn for being too commercial and proggy on Nonpop. Laughing
