There will be an Underground Metal/Punk record fair with vinyls, cds, tshirts etc on the next day of the Tormentor gig at KVLT. Buda side, in an outer district but easy to find. Bus and tram goes to there directly.

You hostel is very close to Pampas, which is a decent Argentine Steakhouse. Also Vásárcsarnok is a couple of hundred meters away. It's a big marketplace, they are selling lots of local food.

If you are interested in local craft beer try Jónás Sörház or Élesztő. Both are fairly close to White Rabbit.

I am very much interested in all of those-staying an extra day after the gig so I'll need somewhere to take the edge off my hangover-cheers!

looking for craft beer tips, obviously I've read all there is online, but if there's someone really acquainted with local peculiarities, I'd be interested to hear about it

You can try 'Csak a jó sör'. It is first and foremost a bottle shop, but there are a few beers on tap usually. Since it is a shop don't expect it to be open after 9pm. They sell mostly foreign beer though.

You might have better luck with Hopaholic, if you are looking for local beer. It is a bar with usually 6-10 beers on tap. Mostly Hungarian craft beer. They also have a good variety of bottled beers.

Also there will be a beer festival between April 18. and 22. next to Corvin Plaza. No idea about the beer lineup, but expect mainly mainstream breweries.

There are some bigger pubs specialized in craft beers. Élesztő in Tűzoltó street and Neked Csak Dezső on Rákóczi street. Both have a wide selection.

Thanks, I'll combine it with all the beer guides and figure something.. also the beer fest is right next to my hotel apparently, might give it a try.

just on my way to the airport

/Élesztőház was nearest to my place, kinda hipster-ish but I guess that will be the case for all craft beer pubs in here.. selection was very interesting but I guess bit expensive place for local circumstances

That's a shame as I'm having to do this trip on a tight budget.

Anyone been to the venue before? Any idea of beer selection/prices?

Do you mean the beer fest? I have been there yesterday but it isnt good at all. Not so many vendors, open venue but on a rather small place, beer selection varies from hungarian hand craft beer to well known czech manufacturers. Prices acceptable but overall better to go to any beer bars in the downtown.

Sorry meant the venue the gig is on in, should have specified!
