For which zine? Could you upload that interview?

especially Thrash albums - were recorded with completely triggered, or even electronic kits. This includes:
DEATH - First 3 albums
ENTOMBED - "Clandestine"
METALLICA - "Ride the Lightning"
CORONER - first 3 albums
SLAYER - Everything before "Reign In Blood"
TESTAMENT - First 4 albums
DEATH ANGEL - "The Ultraviolence"
On some they just replaced the kick, snare & toms with electronic samples, but on many it was actual electronic drum pads! |
What do you base this information on? |
Knowledge about work in studio, maybe? Well, we should rather await the answer. |

Quote: | all stuff recorded at storm studio is drum machine. Storm studio was just one room with the basics. Sometimes they used to mix things for example the Kawir track "Sin" recorded there in 1993 had drum machine for the snare toms etc and real hi hat played by the acid death guy. go figure |

This thread worth to be resumed because it is an interesting discussion, surely better than a lot of nonsense and boooring thread/pool from the past months.
The drum sound on TMC reminds surely to a drum machine and it is even more clear on Apokathelosis EP but why the members in every interviews say it is a live drum? Also on MA you can read this statement:
"Many listeners have incorrectly assumed that they used a drum machine [on Apokathelosis] when, in fact, all of the drums were played live, albeit on an electronic drum kit."
But imo it is a drum machine and not played live with electronic drum kit. _________________ THE END IS NEAR! LUCIFER'S LEGIONS OF DEATH ARE READY FOR ATTACK.

My guess is they didnt want to admit it.
What about the kick drums on Dominatio?. I say they are triggered to hell but a friend of mine swears they are not. _________________ When pussy calls your name.....there's no way back. |

Who cares?
Studio stuff should sound good, all tricks are valid.
Recording, editing, etc.... If it sounds great, it's great.
I've heard awesome stuff where there was not a single beat performed by a real musician.
If you want to "judge" a performance, go to a live show. |
