Just bought the CD yesterday. Any opinions on it?

The only album I liked without Chris Barnes was Bloodthirst, I doubt this will be an exception.

Although I don't particularly go out of my way to listen to them and I haven't bought any of their albums, it makes me happy to see they're still going the same as always. Despite not listening to them, it's nice to know they're still around, haha.

Everything since Bloodthirst has done nothing for me, but I kinda agree with the above; it is nice that they are still around and continue to only progress within their sound; I.E., they are not becoming some exploited, bastardized version of everything else (cough*Behemoth*cough).

I guess I am also a Barnes-era (Barnes-era, not just Barnes) purist; everything about those albums was excellent. Tomb of the Mutilated still reigns as top ten DM material for me. CLASSICK.

i was just listening to EATEN BACK TO LIFE the other day, but the new stuff...............i dunno. they seem to be trying to appeal to the extreme mall metal crowd. theyre demo is really great, different vocals than EATEN.

Yeah also if you happened to have pic of their box set. 15 year killing spree the vocals on their first show was different too

It seems to have a better variety of riffs than usual, but so far I still prefer "Kill".

I've only been able to listen to it a little bit so far, but I wasn't too impressed. A buddy of mine described it as an album that one would forget is on! Haha, not necessarily something to be proud of.

I feel like it's over produced as usual. I love Cannibal Corpse, but I do miss the earlier Scott Burns productions.

If you buy the CD it comes with a DVD of them being overly anal about different natural sounds that come along with recording a live instrument.

I think Alex Webster is the only real redeemable factor in Cannibal Corpse these days. I havn't even heard them since 'Worm Infested' and by then their style had already far surpassed it's peak.

No one can deny the skill of Webster though, that guy is a death metal maniac on the five string.

They are still alive? Twisted Evil

Didn't listen to any further albums since "The Bleeding" and I only know one Video that was played with Corpsegrinder regularely at MTV back then. Was not impressed at all. Maybe I should check them sooner or later though, but I won't expect much...

Tr00f.
Shook that guy's hand after their show in '08, sweatiest handshake ever.

I haven't listened to any of their releases other than the "Hammer Smashed Face" EP in ages, still a solid release.

It's not out here until next week. Will pick it up. Solid consistent band which have stayed true to their vision (and kept the shitty drummer - gets my respect for that alone. Haha). I don't get the "mall" comment.

i'll have to pick this one up, i really enjoyed KILL so i'm sure this one will rip...they've always been a solid band in my opinion, not amazing, but solid (and i'm not talking about the girth of Corpsegrinders neck either)
