New one for today - this is called "Conversion."

Same in b&w (not sure which I prefer - the color is more atmospheric to me, but the b&w is more kvlt and gr1m 'n shit)

I'm officially hanging out my shingle - made a page at deviantART:

http://subtrocity.deviantart.com/gallery/

Everything from this thread is there in some form or another, and I'll hopefully be adding new stuff regularly. Thanks to everybody who posted a comment here (supportive or critical - though most of you were very flattering) - you have inspired me to keep at this. I know a lot of people who love underground metal think of it in terms of what contribution they can make; hopefully this can be mine. I'd love to some day see something I drew on an album sleeve.

It's very cool. Do you remember the kids' book series Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark? Loved those drawings, and this has the same kind of atmosphere.

Holy shit, I hadn't thought of those books in forever. You're right, the drawings in those volumes are unbelievably creepy, even today.
The stories are just funny now though. Razz

I'd never heard of that series, but a Google image search turned up this:

That is some weird, creepy shit. I like it!

I like your style, it reminds me of a more demented Timo Ketola, haha. Seriously though, it's actually kind of disturbing, very bleak.

Thanks in large part to the inspiration I got here, I just finished my first commissioned work. It's just for a demo, and all I'm getting is copies of the CD in exchange - but fuck it, I'm happy anyhow! Anyway here is the cover - it's for a funeral doom project called Beyond the Stars.

Now that's really good, and I'm not just saying that as a fan of moonscapes and outerspace. Smile

Generous.

That first sketch with the ravens is my favorite so far. In some way it reminds me a bit of Christos Beest's illustrations for the Sinister Tarot.

I really love your sense of perspective... it really adds depths to the illustrations. Keep up the great work!

ps. Last one reminds me of a dream I had about three years ago... in the dream I was a monster very similar to that!
