From Steamhammer FB page:

Quote:
SODOM announce new line-up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
While rumours are still flying thick and fast in the Tom Angelripper has already announced the new line-up of his band Sodom: Husky (Asphyx, Desaster is set to man the drum kit, Frank Blackfire (ex-Sodom, ex- Kreator, Blackfire, Assassin) and Yorck Segatz (Beyondition) have been enlisted on guitars. Sodom have already released seminal albums such as Persecution Mania, the live cut Mortal Way Of Live and the highly successful Agent Orange with Frank Blackfire. As he had hinted at the beginning of the year, Tom has opted for a line-up featuring two guitarists, an absolute novelty for Sodom. “Two guitarists allow us much more possibilities live, so we will be able to play tracks in future that we weren’t able to perform as a trio,” the Sodom vocalist/bassist explains his motives. In line with these new possibilities, the thrash act has already started to put together a setlist for the upcoming shows with all important classics as well as rare numbers that had never or only rarely been heard at their gigs. Says Tom: “I can promise that we will really let it rip in future.”

I have great expectations for this new line-up, Sodom as a quartet could be great.

The previous line-up was really solid and they wrote some great material together, even if the last albums were not that exciting...

This one looks great but I don't know what to think right now.

Damn Frank and Tom look really old. But of course, many years has passed on between. Still hard to believe it's the same guys who were on the Mortal Way of Live video!

SODOM announced a new E.P. for mid-2018 and a full-lenght for early 2019.
Will this line up last for such a long time?

I have high hopes for this: Frank played on "Persecution mania" and "Agent orange": enough said!
Sodom never wimped out, but everything after M16 lacks aggression and sounds almost the same.

I find it also very curious to see that the new line up of Sodom was mentioned at the same time that Slayer made the decision to quit: they are both the same age, both bands almost have the same years of career, but still Tom from Sodom sounds more energetic then ever!
Ofcourse, Sodom didn't had the commercial succes or the touring schedule from Slayer, but I still find it curious.....

I'd like to hear this line-up perform songs from the Tapping The Vein era.

I saw Sodom last year in Barcelona and they absolutely did not disappoint. Decision Day was a fucking landmine. I have high expectations for this new lineup.

Maybe some US dates without last minute cancellations. Blackfire being back will most likely make Sodom more powerful live. I'm just guessing here, never seen Sodom so, I wouldn't know for sure cause they keep cancelling every time I plan to see them.

Somehow surprising to see a Desaster member playing for Sodom nowadays. With also Blackfire on board, I am curious if the new material will have a proper oldschool Thrash vibe again...

so now it's 2018 and Tom figured out there was a thrash/speed revival in 2005 and he went for the retro thrash vest, like really genuine stuff... fuck off. retire. kreator, sodom, destruction...enough is enough.
