Next to extreme metal this is actually my favorite genre of music, I seem to spend as much time/money bidding for rare shoegaze records as I do metal ones.

My list of favorites

My Bloody Valentine
Lush
Ride
Spacemen 3
Spectrum
Spiritualized
Swervedriver
Death in Vegas (not the singles the album tracks are more psych, shoegaze based).
Loop
And to throw a modernish band in Jesu

Any other fans?

I'm not the biggest fan but Souvlaki by Slowdive is an amazing album. Galaxie 500 and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart are cool too.

You could add The Verve : Storm in heaven to that list.

Metal and dream pop were really it for a period in the nineties. Some more good ones.

Landing - All
Velocity Girl - All
Lilys - In the Presence of Nothing, Tonebender
Swirlies - All
Catherine Wheel - Chrome
Seefeel

Fantastic genre.

Chapterhouse - Whirlpool

I really dig the first two A Place To Bury Strangers albums for trhe noisier side of the style. They are like Psychocandy worship cranked to 11.

Really dig the comeback/new/reunion album by Slowdive as well.

Apart from the classics, Have A Nice Life's "Deathconsciousness" is a modern classic. It has become one of my favourite albums.

I also thoroughly enjoyed Belong's "Common Era".

One can also throw in the Seefeel classic:

I didn't get around to properly checking out the new Slowdive (or Ride) until the other week. Latter isn't so great but I really like the Slowdive.

I usually just listen to the older bands but so far as newer ones go I think Whirl (or 'Whirr', whatever), Black Ryder and True Widow are all decent.

Which ride did you check out? The early EP's are the best IMO

I don't remember who but someone probably in this forum mentioned that he feels Slowdive is like a soundtrack to walking by the seaside in late summer or autumn Sunday afternoons, or something like that I don't remember the exact phrase but I can't agree more.

I was not expecting to see this album ever mentioned on the forum. Impressive!

Big fan since the late 90s. Most of the retro bands I pass on. Lots of great stuff from the original era as well as bands that straddled shoegaze with other styles.

To the OP, if you've gone through most of the bigger name bands check out some of these if you've not heard them:

Moose (early), Blind Mr. Jones, Difference Engine, and Sianspheric (early).
