Are the die-hard version available somewhere?

Killer album to say the least, as expected. Still kicking myself for waiting on picking up a vinyl copy of Mythical and Magical.

That riff on Danse Macabre sounds awfully familiar however..

Received my die hard copy of this today in the mail. It's absolutely killer and everything about this release is special. I can easily see this becoming one of my very favorite records that I own (both in an aesthetic sense as well as sonically).

They sold out on pre-order, quite quickly.

I got it today and it's an awesome package, a very beautiful work. There's some very pleasing odour on the poster and booklet too, like if the ink smells like orange. It maybe comes from the incense but the smell isn't identical on both.

It's held up well to repeated listens definitely, certainly it's no Mythical and Magical but hardly anything is.

Definitely wasn't expecting the Kansas- Carry On My Wayward Son riff in Danse Macabre that's for sure...

It's the exact breakdown riff from Carry on My Wayward Son, kinda drives me crazy Laughing but still a wonderful album.

EDIT: Oops you beat me to it.

Fantastic record, and a great pressing at that. Very well done by everyone involved.

Alan Jones joked in an interview that the smell of the incense would mask the smell of stinky feet Laughing

I had the time to put many listens on the record and I'm quite impressed. It's a pure grower.

What's impressive is how they mix their influences into cohesive songs. The record is indeed more HR sounding and Terry Jones' voice is really Ozzy-like sounding at times.

One of the highlights is the lyrics, very dark and well-written ones. They really participate in the atmosphere of death overshadowing this record. In fact this record, with all its flamboyant soli and 70's tricks, is way more morbid than most of the "spiritual Metal ov Death" around. Here the presence is somewhat overwhelming. Maybe I'm putting too much links with Terry's death but, for a lack of a better word, it's a very emotional record too.
The self-titled track is one of their best songs IMO.

My only complain would be that the record is a bit too overproduced and would have benefited from a more organic sound. There's a couple of already-heard riffs as noted but that's no big drawback since they don't alter the band's identity.

To sum it up : it' doesn't show the immediate genius of Mythical and Magical but it's a high-class record, a macabre piece of music to be remembered for long.

Mine came a week or so ago even though I pre-ordered it as soon as it went up for sale. I'm in the UK.
