This question will probably date my origin back to the late 18th century, but what's up with the current horde of generation y(outube) Metalheads namedropping Master Of Puppets, Rust In Peace, Reign In Blood and prog-era Death as the undisputed peaks of Metal, while simultanously reviewing these albums anywhere possible? I'm no hater of neither of them, but I find it peculiar. Did it all start with that Maidenslave guy?

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Who or what is Maidenslave? And if young metalheads are slowly but surely rediscovering their idols' idols - i.e. Slayer etc. - is that not a good thing rather than a bad thing?

That's a good thing.

"Am I wrong? Am I wrong?"

"No, you're not wrong."

"Am I wrong?"

"No, you're not wrong; you're just an asshole."

I can't see a single reason for watching/reading album reviews, especially not any done by 20~ year old youtubers, unless you deliberate want to piss yourself off.

Younger generation of metalheads embraces classic albums we all love. How is this a thread?

I saw Motorhead at Glastonbury. They're getting pretty old.

Maybe we could raise a question here - when is one officially getting old in the metal world? Since the fanbase is not exactly young in general nowadays, I guess the standards are different than in some other subcultures. Morrisound death metal is basically dad rock by now.
